Talking Your Most Memorable Crash...!!!

Hey fellow bikers... I share all the passion of a sane biker.. But one thing I feel odd about me is my perception about Crashing... I know broken bones and skinned arms and legs aren't a joke and totally displeasing.. Same for me too(I skinned myself twice)... But those are experiences after the deed.. I, surprisingly, found the moments i.e. exactly the moment of crash, worth a good memory... Do you feel the same..?? Do your crash(es) deserve a light or funny memory in your mind..?? Or was every part of it worth forgetting..?? Feel free to share your opinion...

The after effects of the crashes were horrible for me too.. That endowed the totally mad biker in me a bit of sanity and sensibility....

Default Rest in Peace My Partner Posted on 08-11-2009, 12:18 AM

July 31st 2009 was a fine day for me in the morning, where i started off with some fun playing with my 6 month old daughter and as clock started ticking the hourly chime at 9 reminded me of me getting late to work. Saying bye to my better half and again fuzzing with the kid, i had to leave them. Came to the parking lot and saw my partner, (yes my Pulsar 200) with a little dust on it, buffing them gently with a soft cloth took all the dust away and there she smiled at me saying "Let's Go".

cranked the engine and there she comes to life and kept her idling for about a minute and slowly drove her away to my office with some respect for her power ignoring the posers who tried to overtake me at each and every corner wanting a street race. Had a hectic day all over at the office and i was wanted at my other branch which is again 30 kms into the remote area of coimbatore. Went all the way there and finally completed my work at 6 and was ready to leave the office. Witnessed the beautiful sunset and there again i saw my partner asking "Is it over" nodding my head positively i hopped on to her, wiping my NX5 visor and again there she's got her life vrrooommm....there again we left the place with some foot prints of the IRC's. Had a nice time in pulling some stoppies with my friends for about 10mins and we split heading home for the weekend.

I was enjoying my steady cruising at 70 kmph enjoying the sunset and out of the moon i saw two guys just ahead of me in some 1 meter distance on their Tvs XL's who were actually standing in the corner of the road and appeared at the centre of the road in no time. Both me and my partner didn't have enough time to respond and there i land up in head-to-head collision the bike flipped over twice and I was thrown away on to the road side regaining some consciousness i got up and found the two guys to be totally smashed out on alchocol and i had no choice than to leave them and tow the bike home. That night i discovered that i suffered from injuries such as bruises all over my knees and arms, swollen neck, left arm with a slight dislocation and pain!!! But i must say a truth that my partner took all the beating and some of the damages to him were front fairing totally broken but managed to save the HID, Front fork assembly bent, rear tail completely broken, foot rest broken, seating frame broken, handle bars broken, dents in silencer plate and more.....

Took my partner to service centre 3 days back and the estimate was about 16k (On insurance, but they've asked me to spend and then claim) overall and as i'm running short of funds as i've given around 30k to my closest friend to find his lost sister. I had no choice but to leave her there!!! My eyes were filled with tears seeing her stripped and it kept waiting for me and is still waiting hoping that i will come take her back soon!!!

After crash math...

Luckily of yet i have not had a single crash with me on the bike.

Now comes the NOT SO LUCKY part. my bike has been crashed into once right where it was parked. morning i leave my bike at the normal parking place near my college, i come back to go have breakfast at around 10:30 and there i see my black beauty in ruins (Black ZMR), some stupid guy hit it with his car when trying to overtake from the wrong side ( i got this info from our college watchman). I had my right side mirror broken, the break leven damaged, fairing scratched and fron mud guard crushed along with a dent in the silencer i dunno if this qualifies for the most memorable crash but painful it is, indeed.

Well, I had my share of crashes with my Suzuki Fiero 2001 model. It was one of those unfortunate days, I was returning from office after a hectic day. Was in one of those dark corners of the road, and I was at 40KM/hr (not fast) as I knew this dark corner. Unlike other days, suddenly out of no where, there came two kids, not comfortable on a big bicycle, right out of the corner. Before, I could react and they came right across my bike and I tried my best to avoid crashing into them. Unfortunately, I could only manage not hit to in the middle of the bicycle and took the rear wheel.

Fortunately, both the kids and me escaped unhurt. But my Bike took the beating. Had to spend Rs 1000 to get it back to its original state. Changed the front fairing and the handle was replaced.

Thank you mate! Yes, I'm safe but my humble 200 has found an other owner!

@ thread starter - nice topic where one can share their experiences with pains they and their partners face.

Well I had my share of accident which would have been a deadly call if i had not wore my cross helmet, I had bought my New blue R15 in Nov 2010 and it was 15 days old when this incident occurred. Had gone to meet some pune XBHP members at Moto cafe to collect gears for my lazy bum riding partners as next day had planned for a long ride. So after collecting the same and at around 10.15 pm, left for my home was going at speed of like 70 kmph and suddenly i see a puppy running hap hazardly hardly 3 inches far from me and all he does is suddenly comes in my rear wheel and to save the puppy in a confusion did a panic breaking which resulted in my rear lifted in air almost 3 feet high and i landed on the tarmac road with my helmet jaw crashing and followed by my wrist and knee which was like 10 feet drag, and the bike nose crashed badly on road and the bike felt on left side. I was completely blackout and got to know next day morning all what happened, i went to doc called my friends all in a unconscious state of mind as it was a huge shock for me. I came to know that my left wrist was fractured and was in plaster for one month and eagerly waited for the plaster to be removed so i can take my baby for a makeover which came close to Jan first week. Now i ride very carefully and wear gears all the time.

Many of you would say me stupid as i was carrying all the gears in my bag but didn't wore them.
