I tried it all with my old bike caliber 115. boric acid in oil, acetone in petrol etc. For some days I would 'feel' the difference, but now I think it was mostly imaginary. Besides one fine day bike started soundlng rumbling in the engine, and could never spot why it happened. Now I am VERY wary of adding anything to bike's blood and food i.e. oil and petrol. For increase of 5KMPL, I would either ride slowly or put 10% more air in tires rather than adding any new stuff.

The test bike is having severe cold start problem. She already had it but this morning it was warm up exercise for the owner, more than 5-6 kicks were needed.
Can't say its because of cold or the (home made)additives.

Back after a long time...
Had tried it on my current ride - P220, with, in my opinion, very good results.
Rode for about 6000 kms on one change of engine oil - which was when I added the boric. Changed the oil (there was still some life left in it) and then went on a 3000+ kms trip to Kerala and back.
Since it was more than 15000 kms since my last service, got my engine flushed.
Will be repeating the treatment at the next oil change.

Didn't find much difference in the mileage though the oil seemed to last longer and the bike rode smoother. The bike is now 1 year and 28500 kms old.

Edit: I know it's OT but had to post it

You don’t stop riding because you’re getting old, but you get old when you stop riding.

Adding alcohol(ethanol) in petrol basically increases it's octane value. But the calorific value of alcohol is very less as compared to petrol (I guess just 1/3rd of petrol). So mixture will give less power. And plus more octane value means the compression ratio of the engine should also be high, right?

^^ may be that's why we are facing cold starts & low pick up (untill the engine is warm; read hot)

Guys, shifted back to pure petrol.
Bike's fine & seems unchanged, no smoothness, power gained (can't comment on FE).
With ethanol+Boric acid + petrol, pickup, mileage was reduced. Bike used to hesitate below 2.5k rpm.
We changed its idle rpm to 1800rpm for dealing with all this.
Yesterday got its fueling system cleaned (just for peace of mind) & was happy to see no sediments of anything. Engine intake had very fine coating of boric acid.. No carbon was there. I guess we have done its decabonisation!
Also, bike used to throw carbon with its exhaust.. Checked it by putting hand on the exhaust stream behind the silencer (around 4 inches) at 4-5k rpm.
Now the bike is running little cooler (as expected) thinking of slightly lean turning it.
