Exclamation Is this safe method to troubleshoot starting problem

Today while riding to office on my HH Hunk, engine stops suddenly. On visiting local garrage, the guy first clean the spark plug, drain the curburator. He tried to start using both self and kick but nothing happened. He then replace it with new spark plug still no success.
Then he pour some mobile into the spark plug hole and fitted the old spark plug. The engine start with white and black smoke.

On asking why he did that there is no confirmed reply. So my question is why he did that and is this safe method.

As per my understanding it could damage the catalyte convertor.

What kind of mobile oil did he pour in? It's highly unlikely that any of these oils are more combustible than fuel itself to start the engine.

One explanation that the engine stopped due to excess heat. YES, it does happen sometimes. And then, when it cooled off, it started again. This "heat" often stops the engine for 10 minutes or so.
And the mechanic putting in mobil oil, it maybe just a lame attempt by him. or probably an attempt to cool off the engine's combustion area...

Catalytic Converter shouldn't get damaged in one such start so relax. However, don't do it much often now.

Thankyou for the reply..I should have waited for 10 min..he uses the mobile that are used to lube chain.
So I was reving around 60-70 km/h and chaning gear at 5k-6k RPM...does engine get overheat too soon. After riding for 3 km the engine stop and I changed the engine oil on 10500km now odo is 11000km.

At 11,000 Kms on ODO you are not likely to have problem of heating, unless you have low/ no oil level in engine..So check the oil level and Quality too..If it is black and thick change it ASAP.

Thankyou guys ,I will again give the bike for servicing on my hero honda service center. Now on idle or running..I am hearing a strange sound coming from engine on high rev like 2 metal striking each other,on low rev no sound. This started after fixing the engine by that local guy.

Does the bike struggle to accelerate before switching off?

i think that your engine has ceased but not fully but the piston has grazed the liner of the bore. the mechanic just poured mobile so that he could get some compression. You are stating that the engine is making metallic noises although nothing can be said without actually seeing the bike but i think your engine has partially ceased. See whether the engine is loosing power on getting heated up.

Yes Before I was able to reach 80 with ease now after 60 I can feel that engine is really stretching its limit.

No ,I was raving high at 60 and suddenly engine stop.

I hope it did not damage my engine
