Default 300kmph Saddlebags

I ride a 2006 Blackbird, she takes me to work & back and around the bottom right corner of Australia, in the last three months I've had it I've put in about 8000km which is a heck of a lot of riding so I wanted to get kitted out a bit better for it.

With luggage, the bike came with GVI hard plastic panniers which clip on to a frame on the bike. The frame looks ugly as heck so I pulled it off as soon as I bought the bike with the intent to put it on when I take it on a tour, but because its a cumbersome job I can't be stuffed I end up strapping a backback to the rear and a tank bag in front.
I don't like the tank bag because it restricts you're movements when you're leaning in to a corner and when you open it up on a straight you can't duck down, out of the slipstream.

Besides taking out my 4WD instead, I don't have too many other options of loading all the gear on my donkey so I thought it'd invest in a pair of saddle bags, looked around on ebay and I couldn't find anything that caught my eye and I haven't had the time to look in motorcycle shops.
As far as I know Bragster doesn't make saddlebags for the Blackbird.

Have any of you used the Cramster Colt on a superbike? If so does it touch the exhaust? I've used the a Cramster before and I was blown away by the quality and simplicity of the product. I just think it's a bit too squarish for a sbk.

And what about the 'Getoff ur ass' saddle bags? I like the aerodynamic look of these more than the cramster but I haven't used them or heard about it. Unlike the Cramster they're attached to each other by straps and clips and I'm concerned they'll dig into the seat or the plastic fairing.
These are also a grand dearer than the Cramster and I don't know where to buy them from.

If you folks have used either of these saddle bags you're feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Sunil.

Ventura from New Zealand makes what they call Bike-Packs which are pretty popular here, but these require a dirty big frame too - can't win

Great to see you back on XBHP, Ashish Divakaran. I have the GIR coffee table book & one character who stands out is you.

I can't comment much on your query, though.

Hey! Glad to see you back.
The colt isnt a direct fit on my ER6F, it needs a bit of modification, but then again I dont have to worry about having an exhaust like in your case.

The Ninja just gobbled up the bag when I was taking it for modification!

I ended up making a custom bag for myself which is based on the Colt and have also made a small 'Bag guard' which can be put on the bike in <5 minutes

I doubt at 300KMPH any bag can escape the turbulance and avoid contacting the tyre!

Heres what I made..

For 300 Kmph, probably a bolted hard case should do; not saddle bags

Thanks guys, please don't be fooled by the thread name - I don't intend on doing 300kph on public roads with or without the saddlebags. I just want saddlebags that fit on my Blackbird.
Yeah, I didn't think the Colt would fit over the exhausts and I'm scared they'll flop around and touch the tyre. Here we have enough cross-winds to roll a bus on windy days like today.
Anyone know about the getoff ur ass bags? The bloke selling it said it'll fit on the Blackbird...but again he's selling it.
Ken told me about Bagster which is what I have my eye set on, only problem is I can't chase them up down under.

Nice to see you all too, can't believe some of you remember me after half a decade. I couldn't handle being on a motorcycle forum without my set of two wheels, it made me very very jealous.

My Ninja 250Rs exhaust burnt a huge hole through the Cramster Colt saddle bags. But that was on my second trip. On the first trip, they worked well enough. They can work, but I suggest you look for something better.
