I was riding my dad's 14 year old KB100 RTZ before I bought the P150 dtsi, never had a chance to race the bike beyond 60kmph...
Now while taking the bike from 1st gear, how much do you usually have to raise the rpm before shifting to the next gear to get the maximum pickup ?!? how do we make the bike display its maximum power ?!? race it to its maximum rpm and then change gears or change the gears quickly ?

for racing , drag purposes :
practice makes a man perfect. thats wat i hv learnt with my wheelies. u gotta change the gear jus after the rpm where the bike developes peak power.no use over-revving the engine. also try doing power-shifting which basically means dont leave the throttle while shiftin up.this will save u fraction of a sec but is actually helpful. also as u practice , u will urself come to know when to shift jus by listenin to the sound of the engine. practice by changin gears at diff rpms. try findin a suitable rpm band in which to change. all da best the bike will display its max power at the rpm it developes max power.

I think the pick up is a bit slow if I raise the bike to 6500-7000 rpm during the first three gears or probably the first two ! I dont race much, actually i dont race at all, but i wanna feel all the power that my bike can handle ! atleast once in a while ! stupid huh ?
