of course....! my apache150 has had a replacement of the master cylinder and the pads..yet the bite was spongy to say the least...seems like my disc is beyond the 'sharp bite' period....so yeah a disc replacement is on the cards...

my bike has clocked 20k kms....and I use my front disc so much that i have never had to replace the brake shoes at the rear but have replaced my disc pads...

The Discs usually don't need any replacement unless it gets rusted or due to manufacturing defect OR due to any accident.

Yeah..Mithun is right..Discs dont need replacement. If theres lack of bite then there must be some problem with the assembly of the entire Brake system..
On a comparo..you change the Brake shoes for a Drum brake..but seldom the Drum itself unless you have some damage to the drum..likewise Change the Pads or the cylinders for Discs and it should be as good as new..

Sai, rubber pads cant scrape metal disc.

Unless there is deformity in disc's shape(manufacturing fault) & or it has got deformed in an accident, Disc does not need replacement.

without unusual reasons, the disc certainly doesnt need a replacement at 20K. Excessive use of worn out pads ( which is when the matalic part rubs the disk) may also cause disc damage.

Usually disc dont need replacement, but in case pads are badly worn out, the calipers can damage the disc and then a replacement will be on card.
