The confusion being this; certain customers in certain cities initially were not aware of the duration of the warranty, 2 years or one.

From what I have experienced, ABS did not seem that it took longer to stop. On the contrary, most tests show that it stops faster. Try stopping a car with and without ABS and you will notice the difference. You have both options on some models in India.

Trying stopping an ABS enbaled car when dry; it will take longer. Sorry I should have mentioned dry.

KEN that was a really good write up. it was like knowing a SBK in detail.
i always want to buy a superbike, would buy one soon inshan allah. it would be my first bike, though i have ridden a superbike, i actually never thought of the points you mentioned in your write up. infact after reading it has given me the jitters and have actually made me think over my decision to buy a bike. specially the points regarding breaking in of tires and brakes..

Nothing to discuss mate. I'm no expert and have not done any controlled testing, I haven't even driven a non ABS car for a long time now; I'm just repeating what I've heard fairly often and see recently on a TV show (discovery or something like that).

Of course you are free to PM me anytime mate. Whether to discuss this or any other topic or just general banter

Anybody with some biking experience can ride a bike. But it is a different story altogether of riding with responsibility, exercising care and caution. You should not get the jitters. Just be aware of the different factors. And please go ahead and buy yourself a good "big" bike. I would be the happiest person around to see you riding a Superbike. Try and realise your dreams.

130?? O bro! Thank you so much for replying ... Now, I have some idea about it ...

So, how about Hornet? I heard it sacrificed some 25 horses from CBR 600's 4 cyls in order to have this Mid Range punch ...

and given a Top Speed drop from 270 to 225 kmph from CBR to Hornet ... it means overall gearing is lower ... right?

Say, after all these factors, can I drive in 4-5th gear around about 60-80 ... Thanks! please reply ...

Irrespective of the bike, 90% of the time you will be riding where the power is, or just where it begins to build.
There is not a lot that would difer between a hornet and a 600rr, some more power slightly lower on the rpm guage, and thats about it.
If you are looking for soemthing you do not have to rev the tits off, look away from an inline four. V-twins are for you then.

Yes, but then v twin Vibrations are not something I want ...

Also, take into Account Lower Gearing of Hornet. CBR may see 270+ but Hornet stops at around 225 something ... for only -20 bhp, that's a big difference in Top Speeds...

So, considering lower gearing, is it possible for city driving in high gears ??...

I very often find discussing top speeds pointless, aleast when we're talking street riding. These bikes are about how fast they go from 0-200, and back to being staionary than top speeds.

From peronal experience, i ammost comfortable riding in third while commuting in the city, a downshift or upshift depending upon traffic conditions. This is for my five geared Thunderace, even R1 and other liter class riders i know are mostly in the third or fourth through the city commute. A gear beyond may be rideable but produce high volumes of engine lash which isnt the best thing for your motor.
But why exactly are you leaning towards being able to ride in 5ht & 6th gear?
