your cousin can't just bring it here and sell it to you, he has to own the bike in india for two years after the date of registration in india before he can sell it, like he is your cousin so you could ask him to bring it down here and let it be in his name, you can pay him and keep riding the bike for two years before you transfer it in your name.

Yeah thats the thing i required. But can he go back to UK leaving the bike in india? Wont he get any issues in leaving bike here? And how much tax should he pay if he bringing the bike in his name? Like if he is bringing a 800+cc bike, how much duty will be required to pay?

Ducati will officially sell all its bikes in India. Including the smallest bike 696 in India. The 696 is priced at 10.69 lakhs ex-showroom in Mumbai. |

I was told by a very influential customs agent that you can import a brand new bike, only if you have a licence to Import. New bikes cannot come as TR. |

The Desmodici is 50 The smallest monster (696) is 10.69 BTW: From what I read in some business mag... Ducati is building a factory near Pune, over the next 3-4 years. They will start making parts and also assembling CDK's there...... Let's see how the Japs react to that move. The showroom in Mumbai was set to open Oct-Nov, Don't know if the other one in Delhi has opened? |

I had a friend who got parts for his "officially purchased in India bike", The parts were minor... but the poor guy had to show everything from the showroom invoice to RTO registration to get the parts through. Of course he had refused to pay them a single rupee in bribe, hence the work to rule I assume. |
