happens in every ride... I try to avoid hitting or scaring a life but the time I have in my hand to act upon the situation is a second or so... my instinct acts up and before I can even think something I'd have passed that place. But moments later I feel that I'd have done something else that is better than what I did... but that's how it is... you can always think of a better way later on but what matters is how your instinct acted up!

Well, in one incident, i was driving at ~90 kmph when a dog decides to cross the road. Just like most of its human counterparts, it crosses without looking at both sides of the road. I slowed down. And when it had cleared my car's width, i accelerated again. The dog noticed me just then, panicked (just like its human counterparts) and runs right back on to the road (thankfully, the human counterparts dont do this.) The best part is, it chose to run straight to the car's front wheels. I braked hard, the wheels locked, the goddamn animal went under the car's front and back wheels and came out of the rear end. The car skidded to the side, dangerously close to a parked trailer (The huge lorry kind with the detachable rear, jutting out a mile.) The dog picked itself up and ran off. No injuries to it. But if my car had skidded for a few more feet, the edge of the trailer would've smashed into the left of the car. My mom was sitting in the front passenger seat. I dont want to explain what would have happened. We were lucky that day.
I saw a couple of bikers saying they swerve to save the animal's life and stuff. I say BS! The probability of a bike recovering from hitting an animal is very less than that of a 4+ wheeler. And imagine a car swerving to avoid a dog and crashing into the median or another vehicle. So the biker HAS to swerve and the 4+ wheeler SHOULD NOT swerve unless it is within the safety margin. So bikers, please dont talk about 'Merciless car drivers running over animals without caring for their lives.' In life or death situations, drivers choose to save their own ass over the dumb animal's ass.
Even i care about lives. I wouldn't hurt a fly, even if it cra**ed on my food. But i wont go to the extent of compromising human lives to save animal lives.
Sorry about the long post. I hate it when people make such stupid statements. I am a regular biker as well as a driver, so i am familiar with both sides of the game. Sorry if i offended somebody.
