Great post was informative. Here ( in Andhra pradesh ) , cops stop people if they are in real need of money . even if you have all documents and your number plate etc are also perfect they say that my visibility is poor for the reason that i wear spectacles .

Why doesn't the smart card contain the photo of the owner?
It would be nice if it was there....

I have been informed that I will be issued a smart card, have anyone with smart card in Chennai faced any issues due to this.

I am asking because, only the Thiruvanmiyur RTO is issuing the smart card and so not all the traffic police have the card readers, won't that be a problem?

i enquired abt master card in my RTO..thy replied tht it has not yet com to kerala.
wen i asked abt state tax for a different state thy told ,,i can use a vehicle for 11 months with NOC frm regstrd RTO..even if u dnt ve NOC u can play tom and jerry.unless its a regular cop catchng u....
i ve pland not to tak tax for a difrnt state..
officials in my RTO are least bothered to make us us law abiding citizen.. otherwize thy wud ve insisted on takng tax...so i thnk we can handle by sayng 11months are not over..i will be going next week,.....any replies??

Why don't they have a uniform name for this card? In some states its master card and in some, smart card.

If we change our address, then RTO has to issue a new card, because there isn't any space for modifying the address nor to mention about new owners, in the card.
