It would be great if you could post some pics of the mods - specially the custom exhaust.

Could you also let us know the overall cost incurred (a part by part breakdown would be good).

How about the power at the lower levels? is it still the same or has dropped?

Also, have you replaced the stock spark plug too? What all parts were replaced?

Many thanks for patiently answering these queries.
    Yes brother,
i will put the pics soon!
the total cost incurred was 5k
The spark plug is a NGK iridium unit!
The low rev range power has increased due to suitable jtting of the main jet, and the top end has increased due to the change of the front sprocket to a sprocket bigger by 1 tooth, which means longer gearing....but the jetting has compensated for the loss in initial due to sprocketing...!!@!@!

I gun the throttle, the motorbike wails, the forks heave up, the revs climb, my view blurs, air gushes in my lid, muscles tighten, street lights streak. Just another day at work...

    • 4th free service

      Guys,

Yesterday jus completed the 4th service for my fazer, as its done almost 10K km, they told its must to change the engine oil, fork oil and disk oil..i told ok...when i receive the bike in evening, the workshop bill was almost a page full information and costs more than 1K...earlier i used to get 200 or 300 rs for service....i asked the reason for the total cost..they told due to change of oil and labour cost..only the gm service and water service is free as a part of free service it seems...others are heavily charged i guess...please have a look and let me know did they put reasonable charge or over charged?

attaching the softcopy of the bill....

      Thanks in advance

WTF!! Labour charges in a free service? Are you kidding me? A free service means you dont pay for the labour.. just the spare parts and oil replacement etc. I've had chain lubing in my bill a bunch of times but the charge was just for the lubricant, and not the labour charge for cleaning it.

Can someone please confirm this coz i really dont think an authorised dealer can take a customer for a ride like this.

          Thanks for the info.

you have been totally ripped off ,this is the main reason i dont give my bile to service in the svc,
this happens even for cars like honda civic and accord by the auth dealers,
the for oil and disc oil need not have to be changed or topped at 10k,they know customer cant check this and use this to rip off plp like you, at 10k u need to change the air filter and spark plug .
even the grease and battery is full b s.

                • Sorry Guys, if this discussed before, which grade engine oil should works best in FS-S? Currently I'm using Castrol 20W40 but engine sound is little bit changed, one of my friend told me that I should go for 20W50 grade which is cover the extra sound of engine. Is it really?

Yesterday I went for my first service to Yamaha's service center in here (Dhaka, Bangladesh). I don't like the way they worked. I've done 800Km. They pick the accelerator to 10K rpm for few times when the tuning it and after those horrible acceleration, now my engine sound is changed (at-least I'm thinking). What do you think about it? is it really cause major problem to engine?

                  Sorry for my English.

As discussed before, the grade for FZ engines is 20W40, though i dont know why the engine sound might have changed

                        • 1 year in FZ-S

Finally i had my 6th Free service done and my bike also completed one year. During 1 year bike never had any problem, Just serviced with Engine oil change and chain lubricant, apart from that i spent only 5Rs on battery nut. I am highly impressed with Yamaha reliability. Only thing bit unsatisfied is mileage like most other FZ owners

In my 6th service, i changed my oil to yamalube semi-synthetic 15W50 and changed the spark plug to NGK iridium.

Hoping to continue with this good experience longer with my FZ-S

I haven't seen any sudden difference with NGK Iridium, as per other users slight improvement in mileage and pick up will be there. Will let you know after running for few days.
