Default Sym Range that was supposed to come under Kinetic Two Wheelers

Quote:
Introduction to SYM

Founded in 1961, Taiwan’s Sanyang Industry Company Limited (SYM) is today a billion dollar plus automobile giant and a leading manufacturer of two-wheelers. Headquartered in Hsin-Chu Industrial Park, SYM is a leading manufacturer of two wheelers span a range of scooters, motorcycles and ATVs in a variety of designs and specifications. SYM has manufactured and sold over 1.22 crore two wheelers globally. SYM holds three major production bases – in Taiwan, China and Vietnam (including an R&D center) and manufactures 1 million motorcycles annually. SYM has a complete, advanced research & design facility that develops products from concept upto production and employs over 7000 people globally SYM has tie-ups with the world’s leading international companies including International Truck, Bombardier Recreational Products and Hyundai; under its alliance with Hyundai, Korea, SYM manufactures over 35,000 Hyundai cars annually.\

SYM's key two-wheeler technologies

1. 4- Valve engines:

* increase air intake
* improve engine efficiency (over the uneven fuel concentration problem inherent in 2 valve engine combustion chambers) to allow more complete combustion and better fuel economy
* effectively reduce noise and exhaust pollution.

2. Ceramic Coating Cylinder : SYM is the technological leader to appropriate aeronautical technology with heat resistant ceramic tiles used in space shuttles to produce a revolutionary "Ceramic Coating Cylinder¨ engine.

* No carbon deposit, lasts longer, and no engine overhaul required
* No combustion shock, smooth uphill performance without loss of speed
* Ceramic Coating Cylinder has become the threshold when purchasing motorcycles

3.EFI Electronic Fuel Injection

SYM Pioneered to implement EFI engines on motorcycles EFI is the genie that combines the technology of power injection and artificial intelligence. The system allows for more precise control over the air-to-fuel ratio, required amount of fuel injection and timing of injection. At the same time, it can smartly calculate the external temperature, engine temperature, rotational speed, crank position, and air vacuum to get motorcycles closer to perfect performance than ever In short, EFI can increase fuel efficiency and reduce pollution, as well as deliver increased power output.

4. One Piece Cylinder Head +4V :

* High Rigidity ˇV stronger than the traditional 2 piece assembly
* Quick Cooling ˇV Path improvement design for better heat conductivity and dissipation.

5.MIS Intelligent Ignition System:

Uses an intelligent Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) with brand new intelligent CDI ignition system chip implanted to provide an instantaneous burst of power on each ignition and acceleration.

6. Steadite Wear Resistant Alloy Cylinder:

* The special and uniquely invented Steadite alloy cylinder has high rigidity, good lubrication, wear resistance, strong power and long life with a 4 stroke H.O.C. engine.
* Extremely quiet, oil leakage free and better fuel economy.

Focus on Quality

SYM is ISO-9001:2000 certified for all operations and has won several quality related awards including:

* "Vietnam Outstanding Product" for three consecutive years
* Japan's TPM excellence award – TQM Gold Medal
* Q(C) Award of the Minister Affairs from the Chinese Society for Quality
* the Group Quality (Control) award – Superior Quality Award from the Bureau of Commodity Inspection and Quarantine under the Ministry of Economic Affairs
* Gold" Medal Award in category of Transportation from Ministry of Transportation and Communications
* the "Gold" Medal Award in category of Motorcycles from Ministry of Transportation and Communications
* outstanding industrial automation manufacturer award
* National Product Image Gold Award and the Taiwan Good Design Product.

SYM - strong international presence

* In addition to SYM's strong presence in Taiwan, China, Vietnam and Indonesia, SYM high quality products are sold under its own brand name 'SYM' around the world, including North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa
* In the recently released "Best Taiwanese Global Brands of 2006" annual report SYM ranks as one of Taiwan's most valuable brands. The report is annually compiled by strategic brand agency Interbrand, BusinessWeek magazine and Taiwan External Trade Development council. SYM is one of the most powerful brands in Taiwan, and is making rapid progress in gaining market share as well as brand awareness and recall, internationally. The "Best Taiwanese Global Brands" congratulates SYM for its entry into the hot chart on the basis of its rapid global expansion and sales success both in Germany and France in 2006.

Kinetic-SYM association

* SYM has acquired 11.1% stake in Kinetic Motor and also signed a comprehensive Technical collaboration and TradeMark License Agreements
* The Kinetic- SYM Association will bring to India two-wheelers with advanced technologies and Next Generation Engines
* The first SYM scooter will be available at a Kinetic dealership by mid-2007.
I assume the partnership has been transferred to Mahindra after their acquisition of Kinetic Two Wheelers.

though this Taiwanese brand is not so popular in India but it is the local "Hero Honda" back in Taiwan. They make one new scooter in every 6 mins (litreally) and their warehouse is couple of stories high where scooters are stacked on top of one another, floor by floor, with robot hands manoeuvring around the whole set up, just like a set of sci fi movie.

Really interesting. If not all, I would like to see at least one 250cc variant here.

I am loving the alien looks of this scoot. Looks really stunning.

Absolutely loved the Jet. It should make it to India.
Also that's got a petal disc brake (to go with the alien bug [a-la Transformers] image)

I can bet the black coloured variant of the Jet will sell like the 1 paise per call plan....

Yups the JV has been transferred to the new company, Mahindra..!

And the best part is that the current 125cc engine in India is a treat to ride. Enough power and lovely response especially in the lower and mid range....

I would love to see the MIO here in India along with some other fantastic looking machines..

I never knew scooters could look so good.
I loved the RV250, the JET and the Mio100. They look so Italian and neat.
How can I not mention the amount of technology inside these mills. Ceramic coated, no engine overhaul required, no loss of power and speed during uphill rides, EFI, TPS. Man this is awesome.
Will they make it to India?
I hope they do. They will look Kickass with the Mahindra logo on them.
