With excitement tingling down my ribs as i punch in this post, i just cant concentrate on anything thats around me these days - not even my work as a Realtor which is my biggest passion in life.
After a wait of almost five years, i am finally on way to be a proud superbike owner With two failed attempts earlier at owning this beautiful beast on wheels, i hadnt given up hope and was cutting down on all unnecessary expenditure to make my SBK kitty grow BIG and FAST So much so that two years back when i was looking for a big car to upgrade to, i settled on the Innova so that my SBK kitty doesnt hit bottom Touchwood, God has been kind and in last 22 months my dreams took the fast track to real(i)ty The crackdown on grey bikes by DRI was a blessing in disguise for me as it made my resolute to own the Official SBK more stronger, even if it meant a delay of few months But now those months seems like years and as the D-Day closes in, these days just dont seem to move at all Sometime i wonder if Time purposely stands still and teases me - "Here i don't Come - Keep Waiting" Before i go further, let me take this opportunity to thank this wonderful forum which gave me loads of SBK Gyaan and the ownership experiences of SBK owners reinforced my faith that i'm not the only crazy Indian/Mumbaite to dream of owning a SBK and ride them in a city like Mumbai on a regular basis and not own it to pose and pop up for a occasional show-off ride to the hip spots in town. Special mention, in no particular order goes to rossiter, Sunny, ken cool, insaneroller, busalover42, doktor, manson, rudra666, navalds & many other forum members whose posts made my life easy in taking a not so easy, life altering decision. And here i go now... As i share this greatest news of my life. I am close to making my dream come true - owning the coveted and most BBHW ( Big Beautiful Hottest Wheels ) on the Indian Roads & the Extremely Desirable SBK (IMHO - so no debate guys) The 2010 HAYABUSA - I call my coveted one "Pearl Despoine" The One and only PEARL WHITE BUSA... And here goes the Journey from Ground Zero till the Booking Nirvana : Off all the SBK's officially in India, the busa has been my favorite and most lusted, therefore the name "Despoine" I was ready to buy the official version as early as September 2009 and started talking to few suzuki dealers Got to talk to Suresh Babu at Suzuki who has been extremely helpful in answering all my queries at all kinda weird hours of the day I hadnt seen any official BUSA till date and he arranged to show me the Black Gold Busa bought by someone in andheri Seeing the Black GOLD Busa got me the biggest high and for me BUSA it was. I took a decision that day to buy that model itself. By the time my finances were sorted out, it was november 2009. Set me wondering, why dont i wait for another 2 months and get my hands on a 2010 model The only catch was, Gold Black may not be an option in 2010 But i knew GOD on my side, there would be something better in store for me in 2010. And yes it was. 2010 saw the arrival of the Hottie PEARL WHITE Avtaar of the BUSA I got to see it at the InOrbit Mall, malad where it was kept for preview by Suzuki for promotion Literally pushed the whole family to Inorbit next day and boy, they all got bowled over with the beauty..... Family Approval Mission accomplished, i started working on Level 2 now Got numbers of few Busa owners from the company guy and started talking to them my good luck - all wonderful people who were more than willing to share their buying and ownership experiences with me and also give me an unbiased view of SBK ownership Since my mind was set on the BUSA, i din get into the comparision game at all I did go to Honda World at Andheri to chek our the CBR 1000 RR and Yamaha Malad to ogle at the R-1 and MT-01 But Busa it was for me. Call it Love @ first Look or Lust for the BIG BEAUTY, the heart was gunning only for the Busa. Special thanks to Busa Owners Nikhil and apna Doktor aka Sujat who have been extremely co-operative in sharing their ownership experiences Doktor was all praise for Matrix Suzuki Pune and made me do a 100 meter dash to Pune to make my dream get closer to Level Nxt. Just joking about the dash part - but he was very happy with Matrix delivering his Busa way past midnite and to put in a sweetner he used his good office to negotiate a really sweet deal for me So last Sunday, 14th march 2010, i make a trip to Pune ( normally i would have said all the way to Pune, but not this time) Agenda : to meet doktor and chek out the Black beauty and then book mine @ Matrix BUT i first go to Matrix and make the down payment for my Busa aka Pearl Despoine chito chat with Chetan Doshi of Matrix who is a wonderful person Get to know what they have delivered Busa's all over the country and i need not lose sleep over after sales service Me not hardsellin Matrix, just sharing my experience ( MODS can delete whichever part/s of my post is not conforming to the norms of the forum ) It was taking a lot of time for me to get the feeling that i have now finally booked the BUSA Now comes the painful part..... Its gonna take 4 - 5 weeks for Delivery of my Busa Dunno how m i supposed to live with that ? and to top it all.... my family doesnt know that i have booked it Its gonna be a surprise for them :-) I just love that look on their faces when such surprises spring up. The dealer tells me that the container is on way to Mumbai from Japan with 14 Busa's Then it goes to Delhi where the formalities of duty payment etc is completed And then it would come to Mumbai Why cant i just pick it from Mumbai and let Delhi do all the formalities But than rules are rules and i have to be patient Try telling that to my heart Level Nxt is the trip to doktor's home where i get to see the beauty It feels so wonderful and top of the world to hear the roar when the Busa springs to life Top it up with the new exhausts that doktor has put and it was sheer music to my ears. Doktor is such a down to earth person that it erased all my pre-notions of SBK's owners being persons in a different league ( no offence to SBK owners ) or of a superior caste/breed/class !!!! We had a wonderful conversation on his ownership experience and those few minutes gave me valuable insights which is surely gona be of big help to me Came back to Mumbai same evening and have been spending restless nights, days, afternoons, mornings and what not... in anticipation Hoping its a wonderful experience being with my Despoine.... Would love inputs from all the guru's here on what i should be careful of while taking delivery etc, documentations and all other connected stuff Thanks in advance for the inputs that i look forward to and a special thanks for being patient with this long post Ram Attached : Pics of the Pearl White Busa kept for promotion @ InOrbit Mall, Malad HI - Res PICS on PAGE 3 Last edited by Hey Ram; 03-18-2010 at 06:39 PM. Topic Approved.
I could feel the adrenaline running through your veins reading the text in your post. I could only imagine the kind of emotions running down your mind, while waiting for the Hayabusa to arrive. A hearty congratulation from my end, for realizing a dream; a dream which we all have - to own our very own Superbike! ![]() Do share the photographs of your "Despoine" once you get your hands on her. ![]() -Aryan.

Now THAT is a HOT Busa.
Have never been a fan of the Busa, but good lord that color scheme just looks gorgeous. Way to go brother. The wait is finally coming to an end. Kudos on going the legal route. Ride safe and splash pictures of it all over this thread for us to feast on.
