Talking Encounter with the great white shark(the one)

hellooo all XBHPians....
well i've been a member of this great community for almost 6 years now & never ever did i post anything. have read almost all the articles,threads ,,,,its been great,did learn something.sometimes agreed with sum views,disagreed at times , but never ever posted anything. U see guys , i had made a promise to myself , will make my first post the day i make my dream come true......i have done everything, dreamt about it, planned on getting it , ,,even almost giving up on it.......but something kept the fire alive, i just cudn't let it go,slowly and steadly it became a part of me,my talk's,my days ,my nights. Friends took me seriously at times , joked at times but i stayed quite , never wanting to prove anything just by my words,but the jokes only made me more determined.
SO one fine day,got a call from my brother & this is what he said " R1 le rahey hain, jaldi aa ja".Friends this is the line that changed my life!!!!!! Rushed to the showroom at Select citywalk,delhi & there they were,my brothers . So we three dumbheads had within a span of 3 minutes decided that this is it, we have to do this, but it had one catch,,,,we wud have been crucified if our parents had got the slightest idea of our so called "stupidity"( parents-they'll never understand what does it mean to us). so operation R1 had to be carried out under total secrecy !!!!!!!
So now that we had made our mind , we had one more small problem & that was the MONEY !!!!! But like the saying goes " a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do". hence began THE R1 FINANCIAL AID PROGRAMME. So it started with a post dated cheque of 2 lacs from an account that had no money !!!!!!!! So had to get the money into the account within three days,,,,this was followed by 4 more installements of payment just to complete the down payment along with all the bank documents,,,, but alas we did fall short of money by a huge margin of 1500 rupees!!!! All three of us were sitting there at the showroom & i swear we were empty,no money at all !!!! They cudn't release the bike until the complete payment was made & this was last saturday. We had to come the next day to complete the payment with 1500 rupees & we even got a seperate invoice for 1500 rupees, he he he he And here's the best part guys,,, our parents still dn't know that we are getting superbike tomorrow !!!!!
So now its 1 in the night & i m writin this thread with goosebumps in my stomach , i m,errr WE ARE supposed to get the lady tomorrow , just can't believe it, 15 days back R1 was still a dream & now,phewwwwww, i guess what they say is true " if u really want something from the bottom of ur heart , the whole universe conspires to make sure that u get it ".
All i want to say before i sign off is that DREAMS DO COME TRUE,SO DREAM ON...............

P.S. Will post a detailed first experience with pics soon.....

Topic Approved.

Congratulations! This is a strangely inspiring story. "Strange" I say, because of the way you guys arranged for the huge amount (I believe the 2010 R1 to be in the Rs.13.5 lakh range, provided you are getting the 2010 version) and also because your parents are totally clueless about what's conspiring! I just hope they are okay with it, whenever they get to know.

Do share a few photographs of the R1 after you all get your hands on the beautiful machine. All the best, and ride safe.

Agree with Aryan, strangely inspiring.
Hope everything works out fine with the bike purchase and with the parents.

honestly this has got to be the strangest way to get a bike, but sounds like a lot of fun. Wish i had brothers who are into biking as well. Just wondering how will you guys decide who gets to keep the bike and when

And lest i forget. Congratulations. Rip the babe

CoNgRaTuLaTiOnS, cOnGrAtUlAtIoNs, congratulations & CONGRATULATIONS
Enjoy every millisecond of your ride with R1; So tell us how you started off your dream & how did you keep your fire alive? We would be interested to read that;

PS - Is 2010 a year of super bikes dream come true? First it was Ram's Busa, now next is Amit's R1; who's on the list next?
