*Yawn* This is an old arguement that comes up about every 2-3 weeks. Usually by someone who just recently found motorcycle sports and more than likely owns an R1, GSXR 1000, RR, R15 whatever and is upset that his brand is not winning
If you think winning MotoGP or WSBK races makes a bike all that better on the streets you are just being thick.
What might make it better on the road is race derived technologies..like crossplane stuff or unit pro link suspension etc. But the buck stops there. Those bikes are nothing like what the retail bikes are. Period.

long stroke != more torque. Its a misconception.
Why don't we use engines with two-inch-diameter cylinder bores and six-inch-long crankshaft strokes? Obviously, there are other factors involved.

have a look at the results for AMA/BSB as well and Moto GP/WSBK? are you kidding?
have a look here to see where everyone stands.
2010 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship in association with Pirelli
also here my friend--stock 1000's
WORLDSBK.COM | STANDINGS

AMA Pro Racing - Road Racing Standings

Racing in stock form is where the game is, you are talking about pinnacle of racing(Moto GP) which is just poles apart from normal racing, riders of WSBK have to get used to braking in Moto GP courtesy-carbon brakes

Sorry to go OT
