Thumbs down Registration of SuperBikes not being done in Andher RTO (Mumbai - 2)

A problem faced by many imported bike owners since last few months - Correct me if i am wrong : In last 8 - 9 months, no superbike has been registered in Andheri RTO. Inspite of all necessary documents being provided by the Company, the RTO is not registering any bikes here. And to top it up, they refuse to give in writing as to the reason why they are not registering. Its a pity that all the owners of such bikes, me included, are a frustrated lot as we cant use the bikes on temp numbers for a long time

A BUSA of 2009 is not yet regd, and then 3 more BUSA of 2010, few Hondas et all are all unregistered thanks to the apathy of the RTO officials here. In the meanwhile registration is being done in Mumbai Tardeo RTO and Navi Mumbai RTO with the same set of documents. When pointed out this precedence, they simply refuse to acknowledge it.

Does this RTO follow a different guideline ?

Any pointers from seniors here on how to go ahead and make things move ???

You probably need contacts at high level or maybe change your residence(jus jokin). But yes they are taking time for issuing issuing learning licenses also. When i asked an officer i knew(now transfered to Wadala RTO) he said that the staff isnt enough and a lot of workload is there. But the RTO people know u r rich guys with pots of money and can give them.

File a detailed RTI application . Don't know how effective it will be ,but it should shake up a bit .Ask others also to do the same .Buggers .

What's your dealer doing ? what's suzuki doing ? .I would blast them ,then the RTO .

Thumbs up Trip to RTO office

Yesterday, after being fed up of assurances from the dealer and the company, i finally made that trip to RTO office
The main guy concerned was in a meeting for few hours, so met his deputy who said that now they have finally recieved all papers they had wanted from Suzuki and the file would be signed any moment as the main guy wasnt coming to office since last 4 days.

I was praying that things dont get pushed to another day, week n month.
And viola, the prayers are answered... 5 mins later, he says the file was signed earlier in morning and once the boss is free, the file would be send to next dept where the road tax has to be paid. I wait for some time as i wanted to see what the whole issue was with the delay.

One hour later, i get to see the file with all signatures done and i now have to pay the road tax so registration is done. The only problem i have is i had taken a number BX-8888 when i purchased the busa and now since its more than one month, the number has lapsed. In the current series they dont have some good numbers, so i either wait for the next series to open in a months time, or pay triple the amount to take that numbers now. This delay is now proving expensive to me.

We will be paying the Road Tax on Monday and hopefully the bike gets registered then

Any other SuperBikers here facing registration problems, please share here so we all know what documentation is required other than the routine papers that the company and dealer gives you

There is an ongoing investigation by the CID about illegally imported super bikes and these RTO officers are under their scanner. There is an article in today's TOI. Heres the link. Article Window

Congrats Ram, Road tax would be a big step. Next would be the long wait for the smart card. I got mine last week and it had the CC wrongly mentioned as 800c instead of 1800cc. I immediately pointed it out to the dealer (same as yours) who has now stopped taking my calls. I am fed up of this, but then look at the brighter side, I atleast have a RC card.

All the best, keep the pressure on
