Default My 2006 R6 :)

hey guys... haven't posted here in almost a year but dahmmm i miss xbhp even tough i moved out of the country...I moved to Portland, Oregon in the us with my dad, been here a while....until day before i hadn't driven a bike for 9 months but boy was it worth the wait... Yesterday i passed my driving test and at 7am and at 11am i had my 2006 R6.... Its sunday night right now and i still cant believe...i go down to my garage just to make sure iam not dreaming... Every time i get on that bike iam amazed. I always have my mouth open when iam driving... In India, people just tend to buy a sports bike as opposed to cruisers or street bikes, but when they say its a race bike, with number plates u better believe it... I mean this bike red lines at 16,500 RPM, after the 1st 10,000 its just brutal. I just dont get it why people buy bigger bikes especially for their 1st bikes ( it happens here a lot), why do people need a liter bike, i mean this bike does 0-100 in arnd 3 secs depending on how good u are, that kills porsches, tvrs, even some ferraris.... In the initial pick up, there is just no comparison. This bike is insane, i mean really insane, now i know there are people out there with busa's and r1 and bikes which are just nuts, but i dont know if its just me but i just feel u dont need so much power. And i live in the US where u dont have herds of cows and children on the highways. I cant imagine driving a busa in delhi for example..anyways this is a topic for another day...My friend owns an Audi rs4 and he just bought a shelby 500 and this bike atleaste till 130MPH kills it....anyways What iam really please about it is that i got it for a bargain. The bike has just 3000 miles on it, no fender eliminator kits or performance exhausts or anything, just plain stock, a clean title, it does have a -1 front and +2 in the rear sprocket arrangement but its no biggie. I like the stock look, infact i love it..The guy who was driving it is around 50, hes had like 5 big bikes in his life so the condition was supreme ( ill let the pictures talk )...can u guys guess how much i got it for ? rs 2,20,000 (around $4500) ....TAXES SUCK...lol....i dont like to rub it in but this place does have its advantages... Anyways guys iam off for my night drive... i hope u guys like the bike, and i hope to post some more...BTW anyone know how to get my camera mounted on the tank? the cheap but effective way, if there is one....Thanks.....ps: i can post some more pics if u guys like it

Welcome to xBhp!

Congratulations on the R6. Looks fabulous, & you got yourself a nice deal.

Do treat us to more pics. They never satiate our hunger/ thirst.
& do invest in some safety riding gear.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back;
and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

That's a pretty sweet deal for a bike like that! Congrats! Lovely color too.

Portland, Oregon, you say? I visit that place a lot - lets meet up in September if you can Needless to say, I'll take it for a spin on the I-84

Congrats on fulfilling a dream. Indeed a very clean looking bike.
And yes, please invest in good gear- Gloves, jacket, pants & boots.

I guess in India, there are restrictions on importing bikes below 800cc & that could be the reason people any which way are forced to go in for 'bigger is better philosophy'.

Ride safe and keep the fun going for a long time.

superb deal for an ever more superb bike ... I think the 800cc+ import rule kills the 600's ... so even if u want a 600 it isn't legal , so what other option but to go for a litre class ? these darn rules need to change ... here the Ninja 250R goes for 2.8 to 3.2L depending on where you stay ...
