A simple question but an answer which can require rational thinking influenced by personal prefrences and budget, but given a choice and given t hat you have money (because if you dont have money then obviously the cheaper is better!), which of the bikes would you buy for India and why?
Take the poll above!

How about an option that reads neither....
I wouldnt buy either of these, even if i could afford it. For me a smaller 400-800 touring bike should be more than enough...both the bigger bikes are more like gas guzzlers which in my opinion is way beyond what one would pratically use... (Unless someone would want to do a marathonrun for record!) Edit: Thanks, Added my vote!

At gunpoint and if I have barely enough cash, It would be the Bandit.

I would prefer the Suzuki Bandit 1200 because its completely meant for Indian tarmac. If someone wants speed, he gets the required speed and who wants to tour (including places with bad roads or no roads
), this bike is the best because the Honda will have fairing issues as its fairing is bigger than the bandit's one. One more reason would be that the Honda is overpriced i mean 17.5lacs for 1200 too much!!!

For me(if I have the money) then a 600-800cc sbk would be more than satisfactory for the kind of roads available in India! Be it smooth GQ or off-roads like the Pass areas.
But then, a question comes do we have a tourer bike like the Kawasaki's Z750!!?? Which we can think of buying for touring.. |
