@sri

Dump all this and get a rd350 fully pimped. Why take a risk? RD would satisfy ur hunger for power. wait for a few months or a yr and go for a leagal sbk/600cc mopeds

Sri, Have a look at the amount of duties paid and then decide the price. With full duties and clear papers you are looking at around 3.25-3.5L for this bike.
You mentioned tis a first owner bike. Is it in your friends name? Usually what happens is a bike goes through 4-5 hands and still remains in the 1st owners name. The current owner tells the prospective buyer that his friend Mr.x (x= last registered owner) left the bike with him to sell as he had to go out of town for a coupla months.
If this bike isnt abused, you are looking at a no problem every day bike. You'll just have to service it like a normal bike and it wont throw any surprises at you!

OnlineSatish, you cannot compare a proper 4st 600 to a tricked out RD. The katana is a smarter choice here. Although cheaper, you'll never get the overall power and reliability that the katana offers!

Sudipta, its not a difficult task to source spares or service a bike thats outta production. Practically all the Katana parts are still available and will be for many years to come.
Whenever i needed parts for an obsolete 97 900rr, i just had to make a phone call and the parts wuld be sent to me overnight or in 5 days time at the max!!

Cheers!

Good going and all the best Sri.

The Katana being an air/oil cooled bike, you dont have to worry about cracked radiators/pipes or changing coolant etc. Anyways, its better you select the right engine oil for the bike after consulting a good oil expert. I think the Castrol GTX 20/50 should be a good choice.
