Very well written trip log Sagar. The video is great. Why did Sudipto stop?
I can still see bike going in the wrong side of the rode. Even after that Uluberia accident. Will they ever learn?
Anyway, away from all this.
Ride safe.

Yeah, its strange that Shudipto stopped, specially as he never stops !!! On the way there, he was not even in the pack and was vrooming some kms ahead of us all the way !!
I have a vid in which Shudipto did not stop and the sound from his bike is quite nice...
Ok here is a vid... please note that there are people screaming ... please excuse them, they are genuine worshippers of superbikes.

Wasn't the extreme left lane vacant? I honk once to get in the cleaner's attention & there usually is space for a Car to go through and if nothing helps, clutch-in, clutch-out w/o letting go off the throttle

and usually when there is a pile/line of trucks, I don't expect them to move out & make way for me. I take left.

Edit-- Watched the video posted by Fireblah & found the locals to be too close on the road for my comfort.

Hehe, thanks. Learning the ropes, since you aren't here to do the honours...

Its like gifting a caveman a Buggati Veyron. He doesn't know the correct way to use it, and ends up either killing himself or killing the car.

So even though we have 2-3 lane highways, people are a long way from 'learning & knowing' how to use it. Hope literacy solves this to a certain extent. And maybe 10 generations hence, highways are safer.

No na. That's the whole problem. There was one 12 or 18 wheeler, occupying one lane (extreme left) and at least 4-5 trucks overtaking it one by one in the right lane.

The service lane was non-existent, and I didn't have the guts to swing my bike into whatever space remained on the extreme left...

True. And if it were your growler, they'd be excited, happy and deaf by now...

why, what happened man?

EDIT:
The vid fireblah posted had a bit of me and the r15's engine note in the end. Damn, sounds so puny...
