Default My Ducatis - 2009 696, 2010 1198s

Hey Guys,

I'd like to share some pictures of my bikes with you. Hope you like them. Oh and I live in California.

696 - a set on Flickr
1198s - a set on Flickr

I got the 696 in early 2009. It is a beautiful ride, very comfortable with tons of low end torque making city rides effortless. It is also perfect for the twisties, the slipper clutch has saved my ass countless number of times when i downshift hard before going into turns. On the contrary the 1198s has almost killed me due to its lack of a slipper clutch, I have no idea why Ducati didnt include that, its supposed to be their top end bike. Anyway I'l try not to complain too much. The seat is pretty low too, helps someone of my size 5'6" :P and it has the typical Ducati engine vibrations, feels awesome. Then about 8 months ago it was time to upgrade my car and thats when my mind started playing games with me. Instead of 4 wheels i decided to go buy the 2010 1198s. So im stuck with my old car for now. I dont even need to describe what that bike is, full throttle even in 3rd gear and I can feel lumps in my stomach. Its horribly uncomfortable in the city so I just keep it for weekends in the twisties and hopefully for trackdays in the near future. It has changed the way I look at bikes and especially wsbk and motogp. Oh and the traction control lets me gun the throttle with full confidence coming out of turns, its insane!

You can find all the specs on Ducati - Bikes, Equipment, Accessories, Racing, Company, Dealer - Official Site Ducati so I wont go into any details, if you have any questions feel free. I am opinionated and love bikes as much as you do so I'm all ears to anything you have to say :)

That is some garage man!
I am so freaking envious about you now!!!
Read your post on the other thread and was hoping you start a thread about your ownership experience!

Any reviews about the Monster 796, and the Hyper Motard?
Would LOVE (in capitals!) to hear more about the bikes!!!

aaah finally the first Ducati ownership thread is up on XBhp!! Awesome choice of machine Asim!! The absence of slipper clutch also surprises me.... I think if I recollect it correctly, even the 848 Evo has slipper clutch (I might be wrong!!)
