Surprisingly i will go with the general opinion here. Busa. I don't like it personally but international magazines also rate it as a very good tourer. Infact i read about an article where they did a tour from england to turkey on it. It is not as uncomfortable to ride as the gixers, kwackers and yam and more importantly it has a very unstressed engine which is a boon in touring.
also no matter who says what the litre class supersports don't have the tank range to go for touring. You can also look at Bandit. As posted somewhere else it has already reached leh. so i guess it can go anywhere in India. Looks are a bit too honest for my liking. But i think it is a genuine tourer. On the other hand the busa and the bandits won't hold a candle to the supersports brigade on a race track. But then will you be going on one? |

If you are looking at touring, busa would be a relatively better choice (if need be, you can add an aftermarket windshield/laminar-lip, handlebar raisers etc to make it more touring friendly). But if you are considering any of the naked bikes like the CB1000, MT01 etc for TOURING, please take into account that in the absence of a windshield, the wind blast on the torso could get really bothersome on long rides for some people.
BTW, if you are not interested in flashy looks, the Bandit is the better choice in India.

umm none of the above for long trips... you do realize the above are all sport bikes, as someone suggested look at a hayabusa or something else like a vfr/sprint st/etc. The max i've done on a supersport is about 450miles (~720kms) in a day and trust me it will be painful on any of the above. |

when the guy says he wants to buy a bike for touring and city he instantly lists down all the trackbikes of this world. He is clearly looking for a faired look in his bike even though his needs are those of touring. Something tells me he will not be happy with the naked look of a bike ! So no Bandits or Mt01s or CBs.
Hence the Busa or the gixxer !
