A new beginning to my life as I made booking of Iron 883 from Harley. It was a narrow decision between Superlow and Iron. After brainstorming for couple of hours (
) with the guys at showroom, I decided to book Iron 883.I don't like faired bikes and always liked the naked FZ1 and Intruder. Over a period of time, I started feeling very comfortable riding my Gladiator and didn't want to go for forward leaning sports bike. My trials on Pulsars and Apache was disaster and I wasn't able to ride for more than 40 kms without a troubled back. This took away FZ from my list and Intruder is way outside my reach . Then, I started looking was cruisers. Did some research on our two desi cruisers i.e., avenger and RE. Both of them felt lack of torque in the new biking world. Also remembered Enticer, but a cruiser with such low power was a joke.In my recent trip to Malaysia, I visited Harley showroom in Petronas. I had a chance to see sportsters to cvo and was very excited to see them in India. After some time I came to know that Tusker showroom has been opened in Bangalore and another good news flowed in about CKD. I visited the showroom during the last week of December and again went today to have a feel of all the bikes in display. No test rides were available as the display bikes were sold to customers. We can sit on it, switch on and hear the sweet sound . The vibrations were not too much as I had imagined, which might be due to better mounting of engine. I observed various other aspects of the bike like tank finish, wiring, seat finish, chrome and started loving it. May be I am soft hearted and this was good enough for me to take the decision of buying a Harley. I liked the superlow design, but the ground clearance of 100 mm is never going to be sufficient for Indian roads. My plan is to use the bike regularly for commuting to office. After discussing all the pros and cons for a long time with Koushik and Zac, I made the decision to go for Iron 883. These two guys were very patient and helpful. Srinivas Reddy, who is the owner of Tusker was also very friendly. He understood the needs (usage/budget/profile) of customers very well. Finally, I gave a cheque for 50k booking amount.Bikes would be available for test ride during first or second week of Feb. Delivery would happen in March. The wait is frustrating and I would have to start doing some meditation ![]() BTW, need to save some more money for buying one more seat which costs 36K

Congrats, the HD is kinda too tempting for now. Its gonna be a nice old age bike for me, but the heart seems to search for something else, elsewhere!
I wonder what was the thought process of getting the super low here! We have larger potholes than 100mm back here in Mumbai!

Awesome Sri. This is great news. Congrats on the Harley. This has gotta be the first "Indian" harley on the Blore Xbhp arena. Wishing you many miles and years of happy and safe riding.
Please invest in good riding gear. Have you planned any custom bits on the bike? Quote:
