So, what I did today was to book my Iron 883.
![]() It has been on my mind for a while. And I bit the bullet today and went ahead and booked the bike. Delivery has been promised for April-end. I had visited the HD showroom here in Hyderabad last month and have been planning to book it since then. But at that time neither did they have the bike on display nor did I have the dough :P Didn't get a chance to go and book the bike earlier as I was traveling. And I had promised myself I'll only enter the Harley showroom when I can afford to buy the bike. Today also happened to be the pre-launch which was on invitation basis and Prashanth from the showroom gave me a call yesterday to ask if I was attending. So I wrapped up all my work and got to the showroom at around 4. Prashanth showed me both, the Iron and the Superlow. Somehow the Superlow has never appealed to me. Just a personal bias towards the iron ![]() They offered me a nice muffin and a cold coffee and 15mins later the bike was booked! The people at the showroom were extremely hospitable and patiently answered all my queries. The finance fellow was also at the showroom and he took me through the financials as well. Prashanth showed me the bike and then walked me through the various add-ons and customizations I can perform on it. I think I'll keep my bike as stock and not have any add-ons per se, except, maybe get a pillion seat which would cost me about 6k more. The on-road price for the bike in Hyd is coming to about INR 8lacs. They might be starting a HOG in Hyd soon. Apparently thr are 9 Harleys in Hyderabad of which mine is the 2nd booking for the Iron 883. Terribly excited. It will mostly be used for the weekend rides and the night time. I was earlier making plans to buy the Honda CBR or the R1 next yr, but then I just couldnt resist myself. Hopefully I'll be able to afford a Ducati in the coming years. :PReally looking forward to this! |

My world changed from smoke & 2T to ECM & 4 joke!!

So it all took a muffin & a cold coffee to get you booked is it
Lol!!!Congratulations. A Harley, is a Harley. IMO, you made a better choice than a CBR or R1. I would've also given a serious thought of roping into HOG, only if they hadn't detuned their exhaust!!! Sigh!!!

Congrats dude!!!
I havent seen the bike in person but it sure looks a beauty. I love the color finish on the bike. I try and resist reading too much in the 'Superbike and import' section but just not possible ![]() If you dont mind me asking, could you tell me about whats the minimum downpayment that is to be paid for finance option? |

sunilg, anmol, aargee, chokoboi, eagle-f1, harish and kailash. Thank you all for your wishes.
@harish: 2.25lacs is the downpayment, of which 50k has to be given as booking amount, and the rest i.e 1.75lacs has to be made on date of delivery. @aargee: totally agree, which is exactly why i booked it. yup, 2 things that the harley shouldnt have been subjected is the downtuning and also moving the sidemounted license plate to the rear, on the mudguard. i will write a detailed account of the ownership and also put up tons of pics as soon as I lay my hands on the bike. Glad it comes only in my favourite color. Matt black! now need to hunt for a plain matt black helmet as well. thanks all once again. |
