Default Touring accessories [Bandit 1250S] : PIC

Finally managed to get my hands on the Firstgear Silverstone soft luggage for my bike. Coupled with the Givi Micro2 top box, i can now easily carry enough luggage for a month long road trip. The quality of the bags is better than anything i have seen in india (local as well as imported bags). They come with two bungee cords for fastening the panniers and another two are stitched to the rear seat box with hook on to the panniers. The tank bag remains fixed no matter how aggressive you ride and the best thing is that all the bags are expandable for carrying additional luggage when required. They are not waterproof but come with waterproof covers.

I rode to Goa and back recently with a pillion and the bike managed to hold on to 180-190kmph without a glitch. the bags and the pillion hardly made a big difference. The bike feels well balanced and cornering was as easy as riding solo without any luggage.

I bought them from riders discount (google) for roughly 17000 rupees depending on the conversion rate. They charge you a fixed $25 shipping charge no matter how much you order from them. my package was HUGE and still it cost me $25. The postman took another Rs. 30 from me for some reason.

With my entire touring accessories

The Firstgear accessories look decent.

I have used Bagster saddlebags for touring on my R1 and my 220. They have lasted me over 50 000 kms of touring in good bad and very bad conditions at very high speeds. Excellent stuff.

Maybe I would go and check out the Firstgear accessories. If they look better than Bagster, I may look for a change. Thanks for this info.

Smile One Doubt

Hi,

Bags are really nice. But somehow 2 tail bags add bulkyness to the bike. But anyway, the color blends with the bike. One doubt, with the tank bag so big, are you able to see the console comfortably? Also how much import duty & taxes you had to pay & how much was the total shipping time from the day you placed the order & you received it? Just wanted to know since other US websites also charge $25 for the shipment which is shipped via USPS & once in India it will ship through Indian Post, & package can not be tracked once it leaves US. I'm not sure about the reliability hence asking.
Enjoy the ride.

Is it Bagster Sprint or Bagster Cruise for the R1?

Hi I was looking for information on the Givi Micro2 top box. I have on fitted on my RE standard 350, have been using it in the city and highways without any problems. Have you tried it off road? I actually am planning a Leh ride this year and was wondering if the top box will hold up with all the beating it will take there. Any suggestions?
