Default Endurance Bikes and more....

Guys!

Don't you think its time that Indian bike manufacturers offered some off-roading bikes.....I was going thru the Overdrive Superbike pull-out and I could not but feel sorry for us guys about the miserly attitude of TVS...HH...Yamaha...till when do you think we will have to do with the archaic technology and equipment level of Indian bikes. I think its high time that manufacturers give us something more than puttin two park plugs in an engine block, digital mapping, disc brakes, etc. Don't you think we deserve USD shocks, monocross suspensions, aluminium frames, fuel injection, etc. and for once take a fresh perspective on Indian rider. I was hoping that someone would start with a dramatic approach and give us bikes from the top of the value chain....I mean performance bikes.

Frankly I keep on drooling over the likes of KTMs....the 600 GS and the likes. I am sure if Kinetic can sell the very ordinary Aquila and the Comet....I mean they are meant for streets ...roads which we don't have but we have miles & miles of trails and kachcha roads where we can have our kind of off-road fun, we can very well have 250-400 CC range of off-roaders from Honda, Suzuki.

I have very few expectations from HH, Bajaj, TVS but the Japs can certainly give us what the market does not offer at the moment. I am sure there is someone out there in this forum who is listening and will put in the right word to the japs and fulfill our wish.

If not now then when.....

its true that the indian manufacturers aren't aiming towards the off=roading community....at least BAJAJ was planning a bike (Anhelo wasn't it?)....heard it was shelved years ago...some say its still under wraps....its not that they dont have what it takes....

You guys in Nepal are fortunate that way. I am sure you guys are able to import the bikes you like from the far-eastern countries. I've heard from one of my friends in Kath that you guys are more passionate about biking as such. You guys also have a mountain sports biking competition sposnsored by Bajaj. I saw it on A1. I mean this is the kind of platform that is required to gradute to motorbiking off-roading sports. We in India....have only MotoX and raids. I am sure the competitive spirit will filter down to the measses there and you guys would be able to command the market for such bikes there in the future.

SUV's don't venture out off road any further than setting 2 wheels off the shoulder of a narrow road only to let a bigger truck pass , how does one expect people who see bikes are A to B cheap transport even think of off road bikes ?

No doubt a few will , but economical enough for a production scale ?

Ya the only off roader that i rarely c on the streets is the Bajaj ENDURA!But well with the production of the 2-STROKES which has almost ended ecen that bike is not avialable.Ya the Anhelo or Anhilo was expected , n many said it was goin 2 b a 200cc bike but v neva got2 c it.

Since v've got a Bajaj factory here in Aurangabad(Mah) I rem cing this bike Prowler a Bajaj bike ,I'd seen only 1 n that 2 some 1 from Bajaj use 2 ride it.It was when I was at skool.I think the Prowler was named Caliber Croma later cuz the way the Prwler looked was similar2 the Croma.

It was SX Enduro.
Anhelo is 250 CC v twin, 32 bhp.
I think anhelo is going to be launched sometime in 2005 end.

HUH !! well off roaders - probables are less but we can see it any time cuz its quite certain as we are getting less duties and levies on imported vehicles..
