Hey Everybody,
I am a quite reader on this website. Was waiting for my moment to start a thread, and finally i have all the right reasons. And the reason is 2011 Suzuki Hayabusa. About Myself: Name: Abhinav Sharma Age: 27 Profession: Merchant navy officer Passion: Biking and Biking Total Milage (Driving Exp.): 45k odd kilometers and increasing Bikes Owned: 1999 Kawasaki Bajaj Caliber (Now Sold) 2007 Bajaj P220 Fi 2009 Kawaski Ninja 250R (Now Sold) 2011 Suzuki Hayabusa (Will be mine in next few days) ![]() HOW IT BEGIN: I all began when i was in school, was going through one of the Bike magazines my eyes got stuck on one bike which was supposed to be launched by LML. It was a sports bike which was though never launched. Still i used to keep staring it for hours and days thinking that one day i will own it. After few months LML came out with their two bikes other than the sport version which made me highly disappointed as my dream bike was never gonna be launched. The KB Caliber Story: Time passed I grew up, read more about bikes. By 1999 i was well aware that the bike i used to love was just a image of how sports bike look. The international bikes are much much more than that in looks and performance. Suddenly miracle happened my Dad gifted me a KB Caliber. I was ecstatic, i ran around shouting MY DAD IS THE BEST, he still is. ![]() 1st Feather on the Hat. In 2001 I got selected for Merchant Navy, the training began and i had to let go of my bike. My dad used to drive it, he sold his scooter an kept caliber for himself. Finally after training went on board and started sailing. The enthusiasm for bikes was still there but never surfaced in those days though i used to talk to my friends about bikes all the time but never showed it to my parents. The P220 Story: Finally after my training as a cadet i stayed in delhi for 1 year where i saw these so called big bikes in flesh, and boy oh boy the BIKER inside me surfaced again. I used to see many big bikes in Europe and America but never drove it. So just after my 1st contract as an officer i bought P220 Fi as it was launched. ![]() 2nd Feather on the Hat. The Ninja Story: I first saw Ninja 250R in Europe it looked good but i saw it with biggies like GSXR, HAYABUSA, R1 so it looked like a mild smaller machine but because i could afford only that in those days so i made up mind to get one. I bought Ninja 250R as soon as it was launched in 2009. Bajaj ppl told that its the 7th bike in Delhi. ![]() 3rd Feather on the Hat. The HAYABUSA Story: Its 2010 and i am now in a positing to afford a bigger bike now, these were the thoughts in my mind after a long holiday and my accounts drained out (Was quite a silly thought). So i tried to buy a bigger bike but it emerged as a failed attempt i could not gather the resources as well a i had little time in my hand to apply for a loan. So with a heavy heart i went on board in Jan 2011, but i was very assertive on the thought of owning a Biggie when i return. Passed 4 months living, eating, sleeping and drinking Bike and biking. After my return in April i applied for loan and started praying that it gets approved, but it did`t ![]() My dreams were shattered. But somehow i never left hope. I tried again and got the loan but at a higher premium. I told my Dad who was against me wasting such a big amount on a bike suddenly said that he will be my co-applicant in loaning so instead that high premium we get a at lower one. As i said before MY DAD IS THE BEST, and he still is. So we applied for loan again but the best part that if this one dose not approved my dad has asked me to borrow money from him and repay him back with interest...... Just to be on the lighter side it wont bother me even if i pay him 20% extra......:PNow About The Hayabusa: I received a call from the showroom last saturday that my bike has reached in the showroom and ready for delivery as soon as i make the full payment. Now the payment is ready i just have to pick the bike in next few days. I would have done it by now as i don`t belong to delhi it will take a day or two. But the most painful part is that I got my tooth extracted today and it will take 2 to 3 days to heal, so now more waiting...... ![]() How did I decide on the Busa: The bike which i was suppose to buy was Honda Fireblade. Before joining the ship i took a test ride and then after returning i again took a test ride of the blade. It is indeed an awesome machine so easy to handle. But the only problem i faced was that my hands were continuously touching the flare of the tank and turning the bike was a big issue for me i had to bend my hand a lot more for turning. But still i booked it, but same day i took a test ride of the Busa and GSXR1000, and this problem never existed in these two. But because of the ride comfort i finalized The Hayabusa. Already paid half for it and now its just a matter of time when i lay my hands on it. Thanks to Mr Ram, I had a chat with him last december and was indeed impressed by his reviews on the Busa. I could`t get in touch with him after i returned from the ship. Hope he reads this and take my appreciation. Last but Not the Least Thank you XBHP for keeping the biker alive in all of us. PS: Sorry everybody if my script is not exiting enough as right now im in quite a lot of pain due to my Tooth extraction. Next time will make it better for you all. Hey dude Congratulations on the beauty. Busa is a sexy dream bike by many of us here in XBHP.
Have fun and please invest in a good safety gear before you start riding the busa.
