@kachhhing

the website is updated regularly

earlier there were just 2 dealers. ducati mumbai and ducati gurgaon. the dealership's name was struck off even before it was publicly announced that the dealership is closing down.

though as far as the bangalore dealership is concerned - the dealership's name and contact details was still being displayed on ducati website even after this thread came up. though any of the numbers weren't working.

i am amazed to see that the ducati ahmedabad dealer is also not mentioned on the website. and to come to think of it they were the second dealer in india.

and ducati mumbai dealership is owned by precision motors itself. wonder why have they mentioned them as different dealers.

I feel what you guys are going through, and if there's anything we can do as a community, probably go down there with you and give you some moral support in form of numbers, let the community know.

Thanks Bro,for the support.till date there is no apology from Ducati and no assurance to solve this booking issue and their attitude is like they are delivering bikes free for the Indian customer.
even they are not ready to transfer my booking to the new dealer in Bangalore as they claim it's a different ownership.
To file the case I have to travel 300 kms.I don't think Ducati will understand all these problems.

Guys, this is outright cheating. Looks like when I was fighting for my refund in Sept/Oct they took new bookings and refunded my money. They have continued the business in spite of knowing the issues.

Didn't you guys get the refund cheque? They issued a refund cheque to me. That bounced. I knew that within 15 days I can file a complaint for a bounced cheque. I told them as much and gave them 48 hours time. I received wire transfer the next day.

I suggest you guys should file a complaint as a group, I am sure there are more than two of you who got cheated. I am sure you will receive the money as it's a straight forward case of taking the booking and not delivering.

dude stop pontificating, file a consumer case against the company dealership and name ducati as a party to the case...you will get them to respond as they need to depose before the court....

are you serious??

first they have appointed a crook as an importer who escalates the bike's price upto 35-40% for no rhyme or reason. (the 796 was being sold for 7.99 at one point and now costs more than 10 lacs)

then they are not helping the dealers as the importer is the distributor and it seems that he has been given a lot of authority as regards to the dealers.

then the company doesn't respond at all to the mails sent by their customers/prospective customers and disheartened people who are stuck between being a prospect and a ducatisti.

now coming to the point of hunting down the dealer. i am sure most of the people (not just the ones who have paid an advance) must be already looking out for him. now let's assume we do find him, and we do let the size 10 (or 11 in my case) do the talking - how will it help? i doubt the amount of bashing would be worth few lacs which vishwa has put in as advance.
the only way out is going to the consumer forum. better would be if multiple cases are presented together. do remember to include ducati as a party in the scam. keep all your communications on paper (take prints of all the emails too). keep a couple of copies of your advance receipt. and file all of them together. (do file originals and copies separately and ALWAYS use the copies while taking them anywhere)

by each passing day, my interest in buying a ducati is diminishing.

Nothing works like bad press. So file a consumer complaint and get in touch with the newspapers. A few negative headlines later and you can be sure Ducati will take notice.
