Default My Ducati Streetfighter 1098

hey guys,

its been a really long time since i have posted anyhting on xbhp. when i got my first bike, my karizma, i would log on here every day to get the latest info on g2g and other events. then moved onto a 1993 cbr 1000f and now finally my newest, latest and bestest bike..... my ducati streetfighter 1098.

it is a pre owned bike about a year old.......the only way i could afford it by the way. this bike is excatly what the name says. it is a street fighter. there is so much power to this beast that even a momentary lapse in concentration might put you in trouble. the torque is unbelieveble and the front wheel wants to come up to play every time i take off from a green light. the bike was not so comfortable when i first got in with its standard tuning. dont get me wrong, power was still there but the low end low speed in traffic was a nightmare. it kept knocking and i could not get the right gear. first was too low and second was too high. finally i mapped the ecu of the bike using tuneboy(kind of like a power commander) and put akrapovic exhaust system on. now needless to say the power is smooth and refined. slow speeds are not an issue anymore and the power seems to have improved. now a good twist of the throttle and about 70km/h in second gear brings the front wheel up effortlessly. i am totally in love this bike. i bought the bike in its present state and all the after market parts were already put on the bike when i got it. the list of parts is:

levers, bar end, radiator protector, tuneboy ecu mapping, akrapovic exhaust, self ventilating racing clutch, carrozzeria wheels, after market secondary clutch cylinder(red in colour), red plugs for the holes on the ducati frame, brake pads, front sprocket cover, foot controls, speedy moto crash bobbins and i think that is it .... for now.

this may be a biased opinion but i do think that this is by far the sexiest naked bike there is.

No it's not your biased opinion; it IS the sexiest naked bike ever made, if not THE sexiest bike ever. Congratulations man, enjoy the SF and don't let the front float too much, apparently you will need to replace a lot of rear tyres.

Oh by the way, for a little more comfort and not getting your balls squashed, get a DP racing or comfort seat.

ya, i am looking into that seat...... had a bad expierence once, came down too hard from a wheelie to a point that i had to get off the bike and "stretch my legs!" if you know what i mean. hahaha

i recognise the carrozeria wheels.... :-) i dont think any one else has in on an SF in the world.
stunning, the previous owner has spent a lot of time and effort ( not to mention research ) to get the bike to the present state.
enjoy the bike, she is an absolute blast , nothing on earth compares to it.
it is indeed the SEXIEST thing on 2 wheels....EVER

thanks kachhhing, ya the previous owner did do a lot of rersearch on the bike and all the after market parts compliment each other. needless to say those wheels realy bring out the bling factor. also the tuning is a now a ducati performance map which has taken the already crazy bike to new heights in madness.

i thank the previous owner from the bottm of my heart to spend all that money, time and research and then getting bored with it....... biggest mistake of his life i think, lol. i am sure he regrets it. gonna let him ride it soon as he never got to ride the bike after the tuning. i can see why he got tired of it though cos before she was tuned, it was a nightmare to ride in traffic.

as far as numbers are concered..... as stock the bike was 155 hp and 168 kgs.

now with the carrozeria wheels and the akrapovic exhaust i have lost almost 8 kgs and with the performce tuning and pipes, gained about 4 or 5 hp.
that makes it almost...... alomost 1:1 with 159 hp and 160 kgs.

i still dont beelieve i own it and it still feels like a dream.
