Default bikecrazy rides the suzuki TL1000R **Pics**

Hey ppl...whts goin on...??

was another crappy weekend pissing down as usual..but sorta cleared up towards sun afternoon.. Got a call from ma mate Rob the one with the ZXR250 (http://www.xbhp.com/forum/topic.bike...erms=bikecrazy).. told me hed just bought a TL1000R.. DANG!!!
..after i met up with him we went to a bike dealer to chek out some bikes.. got to test ride the '04 R1 couldnt ride the blade and the ZX10r coz no demo bike were available,, here are some pics

Riding Impressions:

Suzuki TL1000R: The V-twin TLR for those who dnt know is a real badDD ass bike.. Suzuki originally designed it to compete and end the twin's supremacy of WSBK , but somehow it never got to turn a wheel in anger on the tracks in WSBK.. it had dubious handling coz of a rotary dampner rear suspension.. . prone to frequent tank slappers,, was too heavy according to the standards of 97-98 thts when it came out bout the same time as the R1
but the engine was supposed to be one of the best twins goin around including the duke .. thats why it is used in by so many other manufactures eg: the cagiva Raptor uses the TLR motor also the last bimota SB's i think it was an SB8 not sure..well enough of history..when i got on the thing didnt seem all that heavy, maybe coz of the riding position. which was good..started it(man it sounds great) i let out the smooth hydraulic clutch and gave it gas real hard..and it didnt feel as if it was goin too hard. thought i ws maybe goin bout 90Kmph.. glanced at the speedo F**K i said to ma self[:0] i ws doin bout 140.. on the R1 with four little 250cc pistons hammering up and down 140 feels like 180..but with the twins two 500cc pistons hammering it feels very relaxed... the motor's very torquey as i had heard ,, didnt get to try out the handling too much but felt alrite...brakes were a bit of a letdown after the R1..and the sound OMG he had aftermarket endcans ..why cant inline 4's make a twin sound.(considering disconnecting two of ma R1's cylinders )

'04 R1:
well no history here lol..i think its ben researched enough[].. gettin on the thing, its very light, ma R1 feels like a barge compared to the '04 R1, its also way more comfy than the 03 model coz the chassis frame rails go above the engine rather than around it as they did in the earlier R1's + the bars are a bit raised + the foot pegs are a bit fwd..man i wanna shoot the ergo designer of the'03 R1 damn him[}]..started it ..and i gotta tell u pppl it dsnt need an aftermarket can.. sounds great more bass than ma bike..
and riding it ..lol..well what can i say.. i wasnt ready for it..its way quicker than what i thought it was gonna be.. i had read in the review's it got a tall first gear goes 160Kmph in first..etc etc. i decided to try it out, gave it stick in first gear till the rev limiter cut in, 165Kmph ..!!!even accounting for speedo error thats still a lot ma R1 goes bout 114 in first

after that goin hard through the gears click in second gear and the front comes up sweetly which is to be expected I back off a little and get hard on the gas again ,click in third and the F***N thing comes again with the almost the same ferocity as in second gear ,, i mean Damn!! ma R1 gets very light and even lifts the front in third but only if u try real hard , but this thing awww mann ... and its all very controllable coz of the roomy riding position [B)][B)][:0]

Satan .. im ready take ma soul... ..nd give me the R1 (04 model mind you)

Dang dang DANG!! God and Satan (whoever is listening) I want it.. No NoNO I NEED it..

this in no way is intended to put down the blade, but a few guys who had test ridden the 1000RR said it didnt do much for them.. they said it went hard alright it went real hard. but its too goody goody.. "very tame"..when u ride a 1000 u should feel it ..should feel a bit uncomfortable of the power like someones squeezing ur balls..lol feeling good but uncomfortable at the same time. there's no excite ment riding it.. thats the majority opinion of ppl..well goody or not i know wht ma next bike is gonna be ..

Suzuki TLR

yea TL's alrite ,,u could get addicted to it coz the power's so available even at lower revs not like the in-line 4's where u gotta rev the tits off the bikes all the time but make no mistake the R1 will still smoke the Tl ,,..lol..its a bit like goin 80kmph in a RX100 ..feels like a 100kmph.. but do 100kmph in a pulsar or a ZMA and it wouldnt feel as fast although the speedo tells u otherwise..
