Default My 1st SBK ride - The BUSA - hell yeah!

Bangalore

My first ride on a Superbike – on the BUSA

Events leading to it.

Yetserday, I decided to start early frm office. Reached home around 6:30 PM to find it locked. My cousin was at the gym (Platinum bodies – Jaynagar) & he had the keys. So, I reached there n was happily flaunting my bike (a puny sick camel called the 180 Dtsi which farts – thanks to the K&N filter) ....Then it began.

Initial stage

I am standing in front of the gym when I hear a whining sound around the corner. Then, it emerges from the dark. The BUSA. Fortunately, he come straight and stops right in front of me. His brother comes out of the gym (whom he takes for a ride.) The guy had bought the BUSA yesterday morning & was taking it for the puja.

The ride

This guy comes back to drop his brother. I’m still staring at it. Then I gather my guts and ask him for a ride. He gives me the backseat for a 1.5 Km ride through traffic. What more could I as for? !!!

As always I sit on the backseat straight holding the grab-rails. The guy asks me to lean forward & place my hands on the fuel-tank around him. So, its now effectively me at 40:60 weight distribution on my hands:feet. It is bloody refined. The exhaust note seems like a thousand cats purring at the same time through a woofer. Nice but creepy. He never gets above 1st gear.

We find a small straight where he reaches 95~98 kph (in 1st gear) and slows down due to the traffic. Did that give me a jolt?!! Rock steady, the BEST thing money can buy. I could’nt open my eyes wide during the ride ‘coz of my bloody contact lenses (I was’nt wearing a helmet for the sound)

The BUSA feels like an elephant on a skateboard on ice.

Then he gets back to the starting point and drops me off.

The sad part.

I get down from the BUSA. I don’t ask him his name. I don’t take his number. I’m dumbstruck. Though I remember him saying he’s in Jaynagar 3rd block. And yeah, he said we would be seeing him around more often.

I will go again to the gym today ....and ...hopefully....hell yeah !!!!
