Default My New Bike.. 2009 R6-s

As promised.. To start off a brand new XBhp, here's my upgraded commuter

Edit: To avoid confusion.. this is the YZF-R6S which is different from the YZF-R6. Thanks!

That's my car in the back

I picked it up on the 29th of August, just ahead of the long weekend. Loving it so far.
The Engine is one of the smoothest ever and practically dominated the 600 scene through its 03-05 run. It still runs strong and is quick off the stop lights.

0-60 is perfectly achievable in under 3 seconds. ...Transmission is butter smooth and shifting produces a nice satisfying click. I did experience some clunky downshifts but that seems to come and go.

Brakes are very impressive and keep me out of trouble.

But what's most impressive is the handling. The bike begs to be leaned and thrown into corners. The handling is the selling point on this one. It's just amazing and intuitive.

I'm 5'10" and this bike fits me perfectly well. Easy for me to have both feet flat on the ground (if you care for that sort of thing) with room to spare.

Ergonomics are better than most other sports bikes (with the exclusion of the 07+ CBR600RR which is comfier).

To top it off, this one's quit a looker as well. I actually prefer the looks of this one to the current model R6. I could lose the exhaust though (which is an easy enough fix with an Akrapovic slip-on).
Fit and finish are of a quality that appears better than the other Japanese manufacturers.
I absolutely love it.

Edit: Some more pics..

Looking at the first picture, for a second I thought it was R1. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I'm using this to commute. Thus the ergos for me (and the street manners) made this a clear choice over the 08 R6. The powerband is very street friendly but you always know that you can tap into the horses when you need to

I am sure. Which is why I am pushing towards the 600 bit. The downside here is the lack of availability of ANY 600 off the shelf!

Very true....Even am waiting for any news or availability of a 600....God knows who the moron was that passed the homologation orders against these gorgeous things and thought liter-class bikes were a good starting point
