Default 2009 Honda CBR 600

2009 Line up of most of the manufactures is out now with no exception honda too has come is bringin out the refereshed version of Fireblade & CBR 600.

Read about it in Bike India. For people who are not aware of the bike here are some brief details.

The most important and talked about enhancement of the 600 is the incorporation on the Electronically-Controlled Combined ABS – an all-new ABS system using electronic control to not only regulate brake pressure to prevent wheels locking, but also to spread braking force between front and rear brakes to give optimum stopping. It comes as an optional but can prove a life saving update for many.

Now in its fourth generation, the 2009 machine builds on the heritage of blistering pace and supreme control set in 2003 by the first CBR600RR, Honda claims 2009 too will not disappoint 600 lovers this GP season. The bike will also be avaiable in silver blue limited edition.

The blue rims look a bit jazzy for me.

Engine:
The old Honda CBR600RR really lacked midrange between 7000rpm to 10,000rpm but the all-new 2007 model Honda CBR600RR has had an injection of midrange which makes it punchier. At the top end Honda have only managed to strain a few more bhp, that should bring it up to speed with the competition.

Ride & Handling:
Honda has shortened the wheelbase and tightened up the steering to make the Honda CBR600RR far sharper. Combine that with the reduction in weight and it all makes the new Honda CBR600RR a formidable track tool. It steers so well, you can really flick the motorcycle around and there so much feedback from the front tyre you can carry loads of brake into the turn.

Equipment:
The Honda CBR600RR's MotoGP styling is sleek in the flesh and typical Honda build quality runs all the way through. The suspension is fully adjustable front and rear and you can feel every half turn or click. Unfortunately you don’t get a slipper clutch as standard on the Honda CBR600RR, unlike its Japanese competition.

If this news is correct, it means that a Supersports is coming with ABS. That is interesting. But I am not one who is in favour of the Combined ABS. I prefer having independent systems for front and rear.

I am not in favour of the "Combined" bit. I will explain it in the appropriate thread. ABS is fine if it is relatively effective. So far, the ABS that I have tried on the only Honda that I have ridden... it has been... well... it could be better, much better.

I'll be eagerly looking forward to know the "reasons".

Limited edition looks coo, except those blue alloys. Black would look much better.

Anyways, I somehow dont like ABS. Call it immaturity, or whateever, because I have never been on a Superbike and dont know how much of a life saver it can/cannot be.....
