Default Why Suzuki SV650s ?

Bhailog,

A Mod requested me to create a new thread on why I choose SV650s as my first sports bike. Here I go.....

1) Lighter than 600Cc I4 so more flickable
2) No Lower fairing - Less plastic ( very expensive ) to break If I drop it
3) Most popular track bike
4) Less expensive - More money for gear ( I have 2 leather suits, 2 helmets, 2 pair of riding gloves, 2 set of back protector, shin guards etc. )
5) ENOUGH Power - I am not a big fan of straight line high speeds. And in the corners and low speed acceleration SV650s is as capable as any other sports bike.
6) Power in every gear

I recently did a trackday and passed a lot of guys on liter bikes. I may consider moving to a 600cc I4 If I feel the lack of top end. But as of now, I love my SV.

Anybody will be comfortable pinning the throttle of a bike at freeway or any straight road. It's all about negotiating corners where skills come into picture. And SV650s is great bike to learn on. I'll hope on to a liter bike when I think I deserve it.

Liter bikes have good poser value but guys starting with them end up in hospital much earlier.

Most ppl in bay area start track riding on SV650s and move their way up.

I have posted some pics in Intro section.

You may love your bike. But that doesnt mean every one who rides a litre class ends up in hospital. My first sbk was a busa 08. Clocked 5k kms. No accidents... neithers drops as well. We have other riders who have 15000 miles of sbk rides under belt. No body went to hospital...

I'm sure 650 would be great....but litre class are much better... And i never read or heard that 650 is a track bike ....

Where did you ride your Busa ? Straights ? Freeways ? Highways ? Anybody with bicycle experience can ride ANY sports bike on any straight road.
Ride your busa on a technical track or twisties and you even won't be able to keep up with a skilled rider on Ninja 250. And when you try to go fast on twisties without required skill....you endup in Hospital.

I did a trackday on my SV last week and there were 2 other SVs and one of them was riding in 'A' group.

SV650s IS most popular track bike in Bay Area. I know a lot more ppl who ride SV on track than any other bike.

A rider with bicycle exp can handle a sbk ?? Are you joking ?? Then its a poor joke buddy. Looks like people on the other side of the earth ride a superbike just after learing riding a bicycle, and obviously they land at hospital finally. I rode busa everywhere.. highways, city, mud, even in 1 feet water pools in rainy season. Never rode it on the track... (rossiter .. u listening ??)

Busa was never ever a track tool at all since it launch. Its a king straights. And note one point... Superbiking is not all about track mate...
