well i had this query for a while now, thought of posting it here..
Does playng (or rather shuffling it on/off) with red on/off switch on the RHS above the accelerator cause any sort of a damage to the bike even when the ignition is turned off??
had heard somewhere it does.. dont know how far is it true.. can someone through some light on this

It may cause a loose contact, but that can easily be rectified. It has happened many a time in my Fiero F2. The mech used to remove the wire, grind it a bit&then put it back again. It would work perfectly then!

Guys, another statement given by A Reputed member from another site :-->

Ok, here's some 'andar ki baat'. Yamaha is launching the FZ 250 (to compete with the Ninja 250), FZ1 and the R6 sometime in April '09.
Now, these are ideally the most appropriate bikes considering the situations... Just hope what he said is true ...

Good...I don't wanna see something better coming from Yamaha (read fully faired) after buying the Ninja!

Every tyre has a Thread Wear Indicator (TWI) marked on the sides and visible at the contact patch when the tyre wears out.

In most cases, you'll know you are loosing grip even before the TWI shows up.

Yup-the tyre loses its ideal performance even before it reaches somewhere near the TWI. In any case, SBK tyres don't last more than 5-6K kms. Check with one of the SBK owners for more details.
