Am planning to import it to India guys. Actually am having a hard time deciding between an FZ1 and the FZ6. The 1's got the performance and the 6 has got the looks. But then I figure 142 bhp is gonna be quite a handful for our roads, it was quite something for even the roads in the States where I used to ride one. Hence maybe I should settle for the 98 horses the FZ6 offers and its awesome looks.

Anyway, I was quoted INR7.5lakhs for a brand new FZ1 (landed bangalore) and expect the FZ6 to cost between 6-6.5 as price is yet to be announced. Which one would u guys pic up? Power or out of this world style?

Sunny,

Sports bikes are great fun, but considering the roads I will have to ride one on (not to mention the traffic), I quickly change my mind. I could very well go in for the R1 if I wanted a supersport. The Ducati is more for touring and is an aircooled twin with only 84 horses, moreover italian jobs are a pain to maintain especially in our conditions. I personally prefer the practicality and attitude of the naked street fighters. Kinda has the best of both worlds.

Was riding a friends R6 over the weekend here, it was a lot of fun revving it up but then it lasted a few seconds everytime I tried to blast off. Not to mention the wrist ache that comes with trying to ride it in traffic and my back certianly needed some rest.

That said, am strongly leaning towards the FZ6, it might not have as many ponnies as the FZ1 but I am in love with the way this baby looks. I think I'll save the R1 for next time.

You want to stick to Yams only ? Even the Honda Hornet and Suzuki Bandit would be a good deal, if naked / quarter fairing bikes are on ur mind.

I was looking at the hornet 900 as well but have settled on the yamaha finally because the over all package is better. And the bandit is no comparision although it is still a good bike. I only have to decide between the FZ1 and the FZ6.
