The answer is very simple - It is human nature to be obsessed about premium things in life. I don't agree with the Dhoom effect. It is a general law of exposure. Somewhere sometime we had to get obsessed about Superbikes. And it increases when we see more and more SBKs around in flesh. And why should not we be obsessed about them? Aren't they the ultimate one in terms of 2 wheeled machines? Give me a reason why should not we be obsessed about them? Don't we dream of being the best? Don't we dream of owning the best? Obsession is in fact good in this case. So why question it?

Btw, where is Dhairya?

Thats my point too. I think even my pulsar was too fast for the traffic coming back from Manali - one of the est mountain roads.

I so wish I had a F650 or something for a leh trip. However that bike failed when it was launched. Maybe it was too soon or maybe it was becos it was not a SBK. If its later then its sad.

Here people are in a way split between superbikes and tourers and adventure turing. Very few do all or even more than one. I know people who race and have neer been on a overnight trip on bikes. I also have seen a 1200 GS on the track.

Long Way Round was way more fun than Dhoom and Torque put together.

All I am saying is, I would rather see a dual sport in India rather than a SBK. Obviously there is a greater demand because of the oomph factor but thats its. Very few people know what owning a SBK means. I just hate it when people talk about straight line speeds! So what if you broke 300 kph barrier? Any new 1000 cc can do it easily. I did 240 kph on my 10 year old bike which does not have a steering stabiliser and did fine. But it was way way more fun to try and get the riding position right on the track.

I think we as a club, when we support superbikes, we should start to focus of riding techniques rather than straight line speeds.

I saw some great dual sports from yamaha being launched in Europe. I hope they make it to India. and I also wish for a track in North!

Perfect.

We all just wanna be big rock stars
And live in hilltop houses driving fifteen cars
The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap
And in India I want a huge SBK heap.

I understnadn that these are foreign links and pics and the ones we have here are in India.

Just becos I am saying Adventure bikes are more suitable in India does not mean SNK's are bad by any chance. I mean of course I want to won both - if my pocket allows!

The live this thread, bocz am hearing ppl speak the 2 sides which kept arguing whenever I think of owning one.
A street fighter - I can use it more but not a good resale value
A SBK - Can not use it much. but a good resale.

I love to ride different bikes or change then bikes and am not well off. So am concerned about the resale.

when it comes to look factor both get equal stars, see both of these rarely, so its they/we droll at both

Well, the New FZ6 might just suit you good ...It:->

1. is a streetfighter category ...

2. has a fairing, a big attraction cause & a factor in resale value too ...

Although, Manav says it has a "Sewing Machine" sound & FZ1 is better. Still, I say there is a lot of demand for bikes which have streetfighter qualities, latest technologies & looks like a superbike, especially in Ergonomics (Riding position) ...

???! Sewing Machine ?!?!? You gotta be kidding me. The FZ6 definitely does not sound like one... I don't know what kind of imagination can come up with that......
Also, only the FZ6 Fazer comes with a quarter fairing which is extremely cumbersome to drive in traffic. It is more difficult to handle with the fairing in heavy traffic than the pure sport models.
