Lightbulb One and only "The One"

Before I begin I would earnestly like to thank Sumit (sumit.panalall), Ashish (farfromnormal), Kunal (bladerunner) and Akhil (Rossiter) for the guidance that you have provided me.

Special Thanks to Sumit (sumit.pannalall). You really helped me understand the nitty-gritty of owning a SBK and plethora of other issues associated with it, for which I can’t Thank You enough. So Thank you so much buddy!!

Other way to look at it is, you burnt a bigger hole in my pocket or rather burnt my pocket completely and delayed my purchase.

It is really difficult to assimilate the fact that, the bike which was my desktop wallpaper, the bike poster which was hanging on the bedroom wall since my childhood is actually come to life. Man I still can’t believe it as I type this sentence. I won’t be surprised if my jaws drop when I see another R1 on street, say wow and then realize hey even I own a R1 now . (Hence the title phata poster...)

Anyways in the hindsight I realize, the road was not pleasant. I had given up on this dream couple of time, because I wasn’t able to make ends meet. It was frustrating giving up on those movies, fancy dinners, booze nights etc with friends.

But finally after almost two and half years later by gods grace my dream is coming true. Have exactly 2200 rupees left in my bank account though

Here are some of the snaps

Un-boxing..

Raring to Go..

Voluptuous back

Famous Snake Eyes

Tanki..

Will post ride experience soon..

Topic HAPPILY Approved.

My gosh! This is tremendous. I am sure you must be feeling on top of this entire Universe. Those 2,200 bucks left in your bank account wouldn't really bother you for some more time, atleast, trust me!

Man, we have yet another legal R1 owner joining xBhp. Great! SIMPLY GREAT. Ofcourse I cannot even fathom the kind of emotions that must be running through your mind before, during and after the delivery of one of the most dreamt about machines in this world - the 'One!

I just hope my dreams of owning an R1 comes true sooner rather than later. And yes, ofcourse a BIG, HEARTY congratulations for owning what has and will always be a dream machine for many a hearts!

P.S: Please do share your riding experience of the R1 here, would love to know how things progressed and how things are progressing in the future. Thanks a ton for sharing it all, with us.

ENJOY and ofcourse ride safe and sound my friend. You have immense power under your control now! Respect is all it wants.

LOL.I was grinning when I saw the pic of the R1 in the box. I was expecting that Yamaha would be delivering it on a bed of swan's feathers.
A very hearty congrats for the purchase.

P.S.: I have the same R1 indicators on my Yamaha too.

I was at the service center getting my FZ checked by a mech there when i saw this box and i was like whoa man, a box packed R1. For all my life i've seen someone own it or take a delivery. never seen it sitting all packed ready to be unveiled to be the object of affection of some lucky (and in this case worked his a** off) owner to be.

I completely agree with you Aryan. On the contrary i am scared of those 180 odd horses. It definitely commands respect.

Secondly pls don thank me for sharing, i myself have been party to so many travelogues, first impressions, workshops, rider experience etc over the years that I owed it to xbhp.

You are right, i cannot put those emotions in words. It was out of this world. All i remember now is i had ear to ear smile all the time.
