I do not think any one in Kolkata has the expertise or facility to carry out such a high quality paint job. I am sure there are people in other cities who can do it.

HID kits require some work to install them. You can just get Xenon lamps for your bike instead. They draw the same power as stock and give out a white light like on my R6.
Much brighter.
No pressure
I once saw a picture of fireblade with HID lamp (the projector lens kind). I really liked the look. But since then I have not been able to locate anything about it. Cannot find any on the internet. can you help me find out how to get the kit ? This was the only thing I liked in just one look as an aftermarket part on the blade.
Yes, the rear fender looks nice on that picture.

Riding a superbike on Kolkata roads is like that. Guess most of India is like that, but whatever. Its scary
I am saying this because seriously, I have so much fear in my head that I refrain from taking the bike out. Whenever I look at the bike keys kept at the table, the first thing that comes in my mind is a Wagon R that had braked in front of me to a dead stop because he had missed a turn!, a calf (from amongst thousands) who suddenly decides to to cross the road and beat a superbike to that, cyclists who take advantage of their amazing turning radius and take a turn faster than a particular cross plane crankshaft famed bike!!
People do not know that an object can travel faster that 60kmph (speed limit in cities) and use this principle when they cross the road.
But having said all this, I will still take the bike out for the days when I miss her...(that i always do )
I wanna go for a long ride, but its jinxed. Last two attempts have failed. Hope to break that soon though... until then, stay tuned !!

u r 2 much right about the road condition of West Bengal , specially at Kolkata City roads. Only way is Delhi Road or Bombay Road after crossing Ganga River.

for the kolkata roads try this
rotate all the suspension setting by one turn counterclockwise.
i.e the compression and rebound on the front and rear all the 6 screws in total

man it is really comfortable on the indian roads after this .
try it.

I read in international R1 forums about 2009 R1s in Bangalore. I want to know the feedback of 09 R1 owners in India...

The Projector HID mod takes a bit of work. I am not sure if your bike has projectors as stock. If it does, then the projector HID mod is simple. Just plug in the HID lamp instead of the stock one, tuck in the capacitor unit some place and u r ready to go.

If its not a projector set up on your bike, then doing a projector set up requires some work.

Let me look up some stuff and talk to some CBR owners and get back to you.

Ride safe

Dual Headlight HID Projector Retrofit : Honda CBR 1000RR Motorcycle Forums: 1000RR.net

Here is the projector mod. Read all pages. He has lots of pictures. Takes some work. I doubt you would wanna do it.
The other thing you can do, is simply replace stock bulbs with Xenon bulbs.
I will look for that page too.
Peace out

BTW. 1000RRNET forum is a goldmine of info.

Wow, thanks alot mate...
Looks like alot of work and dont think i will get it done here. But the good thing is, there is no cutting required of the reflector. The projectors fit right into the stock socket.
Thanks for looking. I will definitely change stock bulbs with Xenon. more light is always better in India.
Yes, 1000rr.net is amazing for fireblades. I am a member there, even on fireblades.org

so how do you guys like this...
