Just finished reading this thread from begining and just loved it. Congratulations buddy. I am sure you must have also had sleepless night before delivery.
Anyways i have one complaint, you haven't posted your first ride report up till now. ![]() I read in between that you were anxious to ride R1, same is the case with me..i have heard a lot about FB smoothness, would love to feast on ur FB and you can feast on my R1 .Anyways as Carlos rightly said, get framesliders installed immidiately, you never know what might go wrong. I have funny friend here who has dropped his R1 3-4 times but frame sliders have always saved his bike. That dude once fell down while taking reverse..it must be such a funny site ![]() ![]() Even R1 manual doesnt mention anything about break in. They just say that for 1000mi i.e. 1600kms don't exceed 6-7k rpm. Anyways you don't need that kind of rpm also since @ 6k rpm in 6th gear you are well past 120-130kmph. If possible try and change your engines oil after 300-400kms. This will save your engine from small metallic granules arrising from wear and tear of new engine. Regarding breaking..its damm tricky on an SBK. This is primarily due to 60-40 weight distribution of the bike. In normal case like our pulsar weight distribution is 50-50 hence any brake (front or back) works. But in case of SBK one needs to use max front brake only. This dynamics again changes with pillion. 200-300kms and you should learn the trick. Try riding on empty road and tryout different braking styles. This will help you in case of emergency braking. Training Honda SBK customer is good initiative from Honda. They are well known for such initiatives all over the world. Yamaha India made such promises intially but then they got busy launching R15 and FZ16 ![]() Last but not the least..she is a wonderful lady..so enjoy her to the Tee

Getting a bike from a showroom is a thing for us.Getting a superbike from the showroom is a big thing for us!....but getting the bike packed up and brought down to us is surely the biggest imaginable thing.I mean i can't really imagine the excitement that one has when someone sees a package saying A9fireblade .
Congrats mate! Ride safe!

Oh my god! You have got a beauty and I am so very late to congratulate you. I am deep in envy of the amazing machine you have. I almost thought it was a CB1000R because I love that bike and its practicality. But of course the Fireblade is the bike. I just wish i was in Kolkatta right now!

The acceleration of the bike has dropped alot.... dunno what happened, out of the blue....
The sound of the engine used to change at around 4k rpm, a valve in the exhaust can used to open.... it still opens, i think at higher RPMs, but anyway, at that rpm, there used to be a boost in acceleration, (almost like the thrust button in street hawk ) .. but sadly that has gone... out of the blue, thats gone.... I spoke to Old Fox about it , but resetting the CPU did not work. A local car mechanic was saying he could smell petrol in the exhaust... Pray the engine is safe........ i just wanna crawl into a hole, hibernate and come out only when the bike is fixed !!
