He has been a journalist with BSM & now with OD and he was the president of IMOTY(Indian Motorcycle of the Year award).

I am not believing him* & so was asking for experts(you?) to comment.

*He is a R1 fan after all.

Didn't they cure the heating problem in the latest R1s?

* I am NOT a Yamaha fan. I love Kawas.

If they fixed the problem, what was it before !?
R1 is a very nice bike, but no one should give wrong info. to people. Specially who has long credentials !

Ofcourse the R1 didnt heat up when he sat on it. You have to ride it for it to heat up.
I hate TV18 group in its entirety.

I hope those 2 blokes from bombay who are selling their bike for their heating issues read whatever he has had to say about the bike.

International forums will run contrary to the magazine too...

Heck just google " 2010 R1 heating issues "

Or just ask Fireblah

Magazines cannot be trusted...world over.

The crossplane crankshaft thing makes me drool tho...will rent/lend/steal that bike for that...but wont buy untill the heat dissipation is sorted out.

On that note & for you guys--

As some of you may know, I recently purchased a new R1 and I must say, the sound is amazing. I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to a regular I-4 again after riding this bike around.

I realize this post is kind of pointless but I just got back from a nice ride and I feel the need to express my love for the crossplane. I'm thinking next I may even step up to a L-twin. WHO KNOWS??!:tremble Maybe I'll post a video up of the beauty later today.
From Yamaha US forum.
For you Ten Hut--

For me--

Someone get an RSV4

twin at low revs, triple at mid, and INLINE 4 at high revs. Man that engine sound is the most unique sound EVER !
Btw if u notice when he throttles, the rear suspension doesnt squat/contract...it raises/expands...
Contrary to our intuition throttling of a bike doesnt depress the rear, it raises it.
Best example is to try and pedal a bicycle up the wall with its front wheel on the wall and the rear on the ground. The moment you pedal it, it will slam down and not make any effort to go up the wall.

Slight OT here:

Mr.Marmar says in the latest issue of OD (Sept 2010) in a shootout between R1 and The GSX-1000 that, the latter is having this SOQI thing,(didnt mentioned the full form) and his words goes like this-"Each Stanchion hands one task-compression damping or rebound damping".

So this means that single shock of the GSX handles the duty of the tremendous breaking forces? As other is for the rebound damping purpoes only?
or both never work together for the damping or rebound damping??
