@Fireblah: COngratulations for getting the best motorcycle in the world on the street, at least

Its nothing short of magic that Honda is able to achieve such a perfect balance in riding ergonomics, comfort, power, smoothness, making this bike the easiest to ride fast among all the litre bikes. Hats off to the mighty Wing

Once again, Congratulations!

Yes i know !! i was waiting to write what i think. been reading alot of threads, people raving about R1. Now, I have not ridden R1, would be nice if i get a chance.
So all i can write about is what i have experienced.
Yestarday i was cruising through the city. was a nice day , as it was election day, so the roads were pretty much empty. Anyways, kolkata roads even if empty, cant be taken lightly as you dont know where you will find a pot hole or a ramp ready to launch you into the sky !
But inspite of all this, the blade is just so so so comfortable in the city.
I own a pulsar for the last 3 years. So i was a bit sceptic about how will the bike fair in city conditions, but lemme tell you guys, i have absolutely no problem with this "superbike". The only problem is heat. On a sunny day it becomes demanding, sun on top, 1000ccs of fire beneath !
The riding position needs time to be adjusted too, but after a while it becomes comfortable.
Now whenever i ride my pulsar, i keep feeling that something is wrong with it, and its not anything related to power !

My point is , people do not know this bike, and it deserves alot of praise and respect

The showrooms for this bike had not opened then (dunno if its open yet). Temporary registration was done by Honda, we did not get it registered in Delhi as we want a West Bengal(kolkata) reg.no. The bike was opened first time in front of us. They had no provision for delivery to kolkata, so we had to make our own arrangements for transport. except the transport, all other things were done by Honda... but now we'll have to get the registration done

@Fireblah

nice log and good to see the pics.....it really does look nice in front of the Victoria Memorial...try out some different locations in and around Kolkata...there are a lot of hidden places around for some nice photography......would love to see the Blade when i return to city this month end

PS:-have you sorted out the servicing requirements??is Honda providing any service backup in Kolkata???
