Man, Its raining Ducatis all over here.
![]() How...??? Read on...Some background info first... The marketing team at Ducati USA have set up an 18 Wheeler Ducati Truck that is loaded with at least 2 models of each bike in their product line. The truck travels all around USA to various Ducati Dealerships & motorsport events. There they organize group rides on those bikes. So this Friday & Saturday, June 19-20, the Truck was visiting the New Jersey Ducati - BMW dealership (The same place where I rode the BMW K1300S). And I had received the invitation for the group ride (Probably bacause I own an Aprilia ). It was a tough choice because friday was a working day & Saturday was going to be rained out (that means, no rides). So on Friday, after lunch, I bunked office (just like college days ). Of course, my colleagues knew where I was going as they have been hearing about it for the last 2 weeks. Also, the late nights & occasional weekend work are done only for such "rainy" days.Anyways, I reached there and the scene was like this: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The first batch of riders were already out for the ride, so I started to click some pics of the bikes. So gentlemen, feast your eyes on the Desmo...!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Next to it was the 1098R Bayliss Limited Edition. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then there was the Fully loaded Streetfighter S: ![]() ![]() ![]() And the fully loaded Monster 1100S: ![]() By this time, the bikes were back & lined up for the next batch of riders: Here's the and . ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() These were the test bikes: 1100 and 1100S Multistrada ![]() ![]() The 1100 and 1100 S Hypermotard ![]() ![]() ![]() The SportClassic 1000 ![]() ![]() The Monsters: 696 & 1100 S: ![]() ![]() The Streetfighter: ![]() And Finally the 848 (alas, no 1198) ![]() ![]() This is the one that I rode :![]() ![]() its riding time, get together for bike assignments: ![]() Then, pre-ride instructions by the darhi-wala uncle. "No wheelies, no stoppies, no passing (overtaking), no horseplay. if you do, you are walking back from that point." ![]() ![]() Then my batch went for the ride. It was a 20 mile ride on Highways & backroads. Since it was almost 5pm, there was rush-hour traffic everywhere, so the ride was okayish as everyone was trying to follow darhi-wala uncle's instructions. Never got a chance to go over 60 mph, or over 3rd gear for that matter. Here are more videos of the riders and . But I had the white 848 with Termignoni carbon fiber exhausts so the sound of accelerating in the lower gears was mindblowing. The other 848 (red one) had the regular exhausts (they too have a really great sound, BTW), but the Termis blow everything apart. Funny thing was, as we went through residential areas, the sound caused the alarms to go off on a few cars parked on the streets. Here's the . Meanwhile, this beautiful BMW R1200S belonged to the bald guy in the instructions photo. ![]() ![]() ![]() Now a few pics from the showroom: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So There concluded another (dis)satisfying day of riding. Now that made my day. I'm a great fan of Ducati & seeing so many as I arrive in office is sure a feast for eyes.
I loved Desmo and Black 1098S the most. It's amazing !! The concept of group ride is good. Wonder any such thing happening out here.... ![]() Thanks for Sharing.

Wow man! This is what biking culture is all about in developped economies. What a promotional venture to lure potential customers. They give just that enough juice for a short ride to leave you breathless and asking for more. And when you are left asking for more, you want to own that bike!
Great stuff. Thanks a LOT for sharing. You have made a very good morning for a lot of readers/viewers in this part of the world. I am still dribbling saliva all over my keyboard! ps; the only thing that sets off car alarms here in India is the occasional loud Bullet!
