I messed with my already messed MT-01 further.
It now sports Renthal front and rear sprockets and an AFAM HD Red chain. The gearing changes are +3 rear and -1 front. This is much much better for city riding and short quick bursts; don't know how it will be for touring but I think not ideal.

Can you wind it up in 1st and 2nd without lifting the wheel? I'd love to ride both bikes back-to-back and see the difference. I think this will be awesome for the city but my contention has always been that the 1st gear is too short...and 5th too tall.
What I'd give to have a 6 speed gearbox on this bike!!

Nah mate, lifting the front wheel is not easy on this. I can clutch it up or if doing power wheelies I have to use good old fashioned strength
But rolling burnouts though tricky due to the weight are a lot of fun.In the city I would never be able to hit top gear and rarely 4th. Last night I got in top gear, yippeeee ![]() But right now I don't quite understand or can't explain what effect this has had. It now generates power even up to 5.1k revs where earlier it would peak a little under 5k. I'm confused but loving it. Oh and it looks super cool. I'm thinking of taking off the chain guard to give the full streetfighter effect. When're you riding this side of town?

gearing changes is the best and easiest way to make your bike quicker but sacrifice top speed. but then how often do your sit over 200.
although if your speedo isnt running from the front wheel , it means its showing the wrong speed. itll be about 20 percent off from your new gearing. id look at getting a speedo healer to fix that. otherwise your speedo will show kms you havent done and reduce the value of your bike. the new feeling of power is the comparitively faster pick up which makes you feel like its generating power throughout the range. |

Thanks Jay. So when're we riding again?
200 Sterling Pounds. Saved on courier charges as someone carried it back for me. Yeah looks good and may look even better without the chain guard. Will get some more pics once I take the bike out in the day. Quote:
Have you done it, was it easy?
