    @All,please share your thoughts..
I wanted to comment on this in my earlier post itself but refrained because it will trigger lot of arguments. You said this bike would be ridden gently 40-70kmph that too occassionally. If that is the case, I don't think it is worth investing in Disc brakes. I ride a Duke 390 daily which has disk brakes on both the wheels + ABS but when I switch back to RX I don't miss the disc brakes. Key is know the limitations of your bike and ride sensibly.

Invest that money to get a better set of tyres (may be IRC) or better still to stock up on critical spares for future.

P.S: I don't think Gladiator disc comes for 10k should be costlier than that.

I'll be investing in good OE spares and tyres with the money meant for disk brakes. You are absolutely right. No technology can ever go as far as sensibility.I was just a tad late in realizing the same.
I'll most probably be going for Michelins in the tyre department as i had driven @rxdude 's RX135 with Michelin M45 for the rear and Sirac street for the front.I'll have a similiar setup too.

Thanks a lot for making me understand brother.

No,we are not from the same town.Almost 50kms apart. After joining xBhp i had sent him a pm and then we began to talk and eventually i ended up visiting him at his place, last month. He is a great inspiration.Told me all about what it takes to restore one.In fact, even as he is out of country he rings me up frequently to check the progress.

Sorry for the quality of pics-mobile cam.
    -------------------------------

    Updates:-
    --------
1.Frame has some weak points.Has been given for welding and all the parts for painting will be sent tomorrow.
2.Steel parts, nuts and bolts-Going to be sent for plating in today or tomorrow
    3.Salvaged parts have been stored.
4.Spare parts hunt going to start soon.
5.Have decided not to go for disk brakes, thanks for the advice @kb100 and @NitinGirish.I'll only be riding at sane speeds and when i gave it a good thought, drum brakes are more than enough for my style of riding. Also the high cost involved, was a reason.I'll be investing the same for tyres and spare parts.

Belongs to my mech,he bought it for 18k,he says. Was running fine, currently he is in the process of collecting parts for the restoration.Looking out for the connecting rod and the piston mainly. He too is into 2-strokes a lot, says whatever bike he rides, his heart is always with 2 strokes. The "feel"(His words) is out of the world,he says.
I'm currently persuading him to complete the restoration soon and will soon after be asking him for a ride. After all,A shogun is soo soo SPECIAL!.

Regarding the nuts and bolts, I would suggest to go for brand new ones. Ofcourse plate the existing ones and store for future use.
how about the condition of rims?
