Exams over guys
. Well have two newsLet me hit with the bad one first. I have AIEEE classes to attend from 20th . Anyway I need to think abt my future. Anyway, will keep myself glued to xbhp when free. Well for the good one..... just got my baby back from service . She is truly a screamer now. Used to be slow before service. But let me tell one thing people....my bike drove the mechanic and the spare parts shop go crazy . Let me list the parts replaced:1.Shock damper 2.Clutch cable 3.Some bearing(I am just typing from the bill) 4.Key set 5.Petrol filter 6.Chain Sprocket(surprisingly!) 7.Chain 8.Brake footrest 9.Clutch gasket tube 10.Petrol tube(from TVS XL lol! )Apart from these, some parts like o-ring,gear screwetc. were modified to suit the bike's original parts. My mechanic claims he too likes the bike like hell, but for the spares. He assured he would replace parts if I can get them from somewhere. Will see abt that later. For now I am happy. I am also in a kind of dilema. Because my parents are also forcing to give it back to my cousin(I am driving his dad's KB). May be will keep her for another 5 months. After that the fate depends on spares(Help me! ). Damn I like this bike. I just don't know how this phenomenon works as the present day youths like the pulsars, zma's and the hyperactive yams. I like these bikes also, but have more attraction towards 2-strokeys, especially KB. Planning for chota chota trips(obviously after my aieee exam). And all KB guys.....I think we can get some parts from bangalore or pune if somebody from xbhp there can help us.Meanwhile I have two days before the aieee thingy begins. So I am thinkin of puttin her through a test. Hate to have unofficial drags but i have no other way to prove my friends. They just think its a piece of cake. Wait till I show them what she's got .About the bike....hmmm...i have a few doubts.....mine is 1991 KB100RTZ. So is this the 10.5bhp version? My uncle forgot to give me the manual but still I am sure that you guys will be knowing. Yesterday revved her to the max. I was astonished to see the tacho go up till 9500rpm!! Does all ur KB share this prop? And do you think I can beat the 150cc 4-strokeys? Last doubt. I think she's got inconsistent firing. Do you all have this problem? Also suggest me how to keep her breathe free. Pls dont mistake me for a speed freak. I am just relieved from the exam tension. Or else generally I love to cruise at 50-60 .PLS PLS PLS reply. I have spent 1hr on typing this .

Hi friends,
check my album at this link for a few pics of my kb xBhp.com : The Global Indian Biking Community - yaser_kb100's Album: KB100 - 1994 model Let me know how you like it. Regarding the two little lights, nothing extra ordinary about them. The original reflector rusted and then I wasn't able to get an original one again and had to do with a not so good one which gave horrible focus. So the two little lights are an attempt to get somewhat better lighting. No, both of them don't light up together. The left one comes up at low beam and the right one on the high beam. Everything works fine on my bike, but for the fuel guage and the brake light, the tail light is working though. @harishkumarko - your mechanic is right - it is a great bike but off late unavailability of the spares is making it extinct. Coming to the drags, an Rx will zip ahead in a straightline drag but on a track/turns/bends, KB is leagues ahead. Though it doesn't has the initial burst or the topend of an Rx, on the curves, you can overtake an Rx taking the outside line. The supreme handling of the KB allows you to brake very very late into a corner and take it with the rear end sliding. With regards to the 150cc 4-strokes, it mite match up with some and lag a little behind some but then no 4-stroke will give you the audio bliss of a 2-stroker. They are different classes altogether. Do not compare the KB with any other bike. Keep it in a good condition and it grabs more attention that many of the new models which fill the roads in large numbers. I mean, you are riding a not so common/rare bike and that in itself is an accomplishment. Enjoy. Last edited by yaser_kb100; 03-24-2010 at 09:43 PM. |

Sorry. I am very very very.... busy in the aieee thingy. Also I don't know why...i could never get logged in these many days....the thing used to say thank you for logging in and i find that i am not
.....leave it apart...coming to the bike....i went to the four lane the other day. I could do a 95 solo . Could have done more but i am only a starter and frankly i was scared and i decided not go further . There was slight wobbling at 95. Need to check the alignment. Also did a 90 with a hefty guy at the back. He was scared to hell. And that's wat i wanted . After service now she's smokoing less. Also very smooth ride. However as all say....KB100 definitely needs a 5th cog. I hear that the final variants had it.And comin to the thread....I hear that the final variant of KB125 was called prowler. It had the body of calibre croma and most importantly a fifth cog. Not sure abt the technical data. The initial KB100 had three colors. Aqua blue, wine red(mine) and black(correct me if i am wrong) .I keep seeing some KB's in bad condition in madurai. Man-o-man...i feel so hurted seeing such legends being wasted . I have seen very few in good condtion. Also one day I saw a bad KB with two hefty people carrying goods! It was like the bike screaming out," Hey! I am not meant for this!" Sob-sob .Guys....I have one very shocking news .....if u r an autocarindia reader u would know....i saw a small snippet which said yamaha is on its way to provide spares for the RX family. I have nothing in personal against yams(in fact i love them). But what struck to me was.....why not bajaj?? So I have decided to contact them to arrange something for the legends. Pls help me with this . I am not sure of any positive reply....but trying won't hurt....right??![]() @yaser Bhai. Ur bike looks good except for the colour has faded in some parts and i see that u have replced one of the side panels. What happened? What tyres does ur KB have? It looks like zapper. Pls let me know abt the feedback ur tyres provide. I have problem with the initial fuel flow. I have to apply choke every morning. In fact i have replaced with a new tap as my machanic suggested. He says the tank needs a clean up. What's ur opinion? Lastly which year model is ur's? I don't see the K letter in front of the bajaj wordings. Pls don't get irritated ! I tend to ask and talk a lot! It all comes from the inside out! ![]() Guys....what is happening? Why is the thread not active?? |

^^ you can still get spares for the RTZ series.. you will have to order em online from thailand or indonesia.
Also any one mention replacement of the disc valve on the KB yet??? wasnt it supposed to be replaced every service or something??

RTZ was my dream bike in my school days (4th Std), got impressed by few street stunters and the amazing exhaust music of this machine.
Well tried a lot to find a decent RTZ during 1999, however ended up buying a shogun and realized the POWER

Hi Harish,
mine is a 1994 model, and yes the color is faded cause its still the original one that it came with. I did thought of getting it repainted a few times. Right now I am a little tied up with various things and don't really want to touch it and one of the reasons are the hard to find spares. At the moment it is a just a bit low on power, the piston isn't as good as I would have liked it to be. I am having to rev it a little bit higher everytime I want it to scream. But then it still is going on smooth and off late I haven't been ripping it a lot. Even until 3yrs back, I used to rip it a lot and I used to manage a ton on some roads. Yes, the rubber is Zapper and I think they do a pretty decent job. She has been on zappers for the last 8yrs. Somethings I wish on her - discs(atleast up front) and a 5th gear ![]() Regarding the side panel, the original one had gotten a bit loose and once shortly after a battery service(got the battery charged, topped and also had all the wiring etc fixed) on my way back home I noticed that the side panel had fallen off. Probably the guy didn't screw it tight enough. Search a lot in vain for the original side panel and finally had to adjust with the unoriginal one. I am not happy with its quality. Coming to the morning choke - well yes, we have to do it. Its a part of the kb ownership. I remember I didn't had to use it as much when it was in a better shape but for the winters or other cold days. Another thing that I learnt from a very senior biker and an avid KB lover. My bike was stalling often. I observed that it was doing it more so when the fuel was about 3lts or less. Anything more, the problem wasn't noticable. While riding, it used to sudden go off, as if the fuel supply as stopped. The only way to get it running immediately was to blow hard into the fuel tank with the fuel tap in the ON position. I replaced the fuel tap but that didn't fix the problem. I then discussed this with the guy and he advised me to replace the fuel filter. I then installed the little fuel filter of a spelndor and that fixed the problem. You might want to try it and see if it helps. Full respect to the POWER of the RX and the SHOGUN and a KB never stood a chance to win on the race tracks but then the KB did manage to put some very respectable performance in some dirt races, thanks to its excelly shock absorbers and handling. If you look on the other side, I have never heard of a RX or a Shogun return anything above 40kmpl but my KB consistently used to give around 50kmpl under sane riding and a couple of times I was able to strech it to 59-60kmpl on the highway. All this plus the two-stroke kick when you twisted the right wrist
