This thread is in the fond memory of the Kawasaki RTZ 110 and 125
I dont know much about these bikes but all that i know al share here, hoping for more of your inputs and if possible a service manual as well of this old kwacker. I dont own one, but hope to do so some day Heres what i know about the 125: The kawasaki RTZ 125 was launched to tackle the famous RX series Yamaha bikes and the likes of the fiery Shogun. It came equipped witha 125CC 2 stroke engine, that put out 12-odd Bhp. at a good 7250 RPM's. It had a 4-speed and on highways begged for an extra cog. The main USP here for the RTZ that set it apart and higher from the RX was its amazing handling. The RTZ was known to be a novice friendly bike, as one could just hop on and ride away with no handling issues. Handling always plays an important role in the functioning of the bike. For that day and age the handling stood aprt. The Instrumentation was straight out of the future. The rectangular console incorporated a speedo, tacho, fuel guage and odo. The lay out was simple but the information displayed was really cool. I think it was the first bike with this combination of gizmo's. I wreckon the only other bike that came close was the RD but the RD did not come with a fuel guage. The only reason the RTZ did not click well with the masses is because at that time Bajaj had to live with the pre-concieved notion of being a scooter maker primarily. The reliabity factor of the RTZ too was amazing, probably the only bike form the Bajaj stable to sport the "most-reliable" sticker with ease. The RTZ 125 did not sound like a houler, but chugged with the same pace as its competitiors. The one and only time I rode the RTZ 125 was at the age of 13. It was one of the bikes i had ridden. I did not know squat about bikes then, but i sure loved the ride. Even more than the ride i had taken on the splendor the day before , ( I did not know that you cannot compare a 2stroker to a 4 stroker then ). Hoping to ride the RTZ again real soonTill then heres a small spec sheet of the RTZ 125 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS OF KAWASAKI BAJAJ 125 RTZ Engine : Two-stroke/petrol Transmission : Four-speed Engine Displacement : 123cc Tachometer : Yes Max Power : 12.5bhp@7250rpm Wheel base : 1,260mm Ground Clearance : 160mm Ignition : Electronic Dry Weight : 115kg Fuel tank Capacity : 9.3litres Battery : 12V F/R suspension : 125mm Ceniani telescope R/R suspension : 5 step adjustable Max Speed : 100kph Front Tyre size : 2.57x18.4 Rear Tyre size : 3.00x18.4

this is one great bike from bajaj stable and i lov it coz it was on an RTZ that i learnt to ride a bike...my cousin had it n i used to ride it whenever i get a chance . great sounding machine and reliable too.. my 3 cousins used it for more than 12 years and abused to the max(rode it for more than 1.5L kms ). He had to sell it coz the bike just couldnt handle any more abuse and it sharted showing signs of aging( engine probs, mileage less than 20

KB100 RTZ with DELTA TUNED ENGINE.
man i liked this bike more than the RX, it was more stable had more weight, and the engine was a screamer... the most amazing thig about the bike was it's horizontal carb which was hidden on the left side and it was the most RESPONSIVE carb i've came across in my life.. it used to throw the needle like anything when i used to tune it, and it use to show the response even while touchin the mixture screw.... it was a great bike...

the RTZ 100 felt much smoother & responsive in comparison to the RX100. But the RX has that exclusive punch & the note that made us fall in love with it. More than anything what made me keep away from the RTZ was -
1) the body parts loose shine and look ugly in about 2 years 2) after some time finding spares has become a big issue Had an offer to just take away one RTZ for almost nothing but I stuck to the RX even though the 3rd gear was not working (was awaiting a one part that took 3 months to be available in our area)

A lil more info on the 100 and 125. Never knew about the enduro and the 5 speeder, this is news to me
In the early 1980s Escorts and TVS partnered with Yamaha and Suzuki respectively. Escorts launched the Rajdoot 350 (Yamaha RD350B) in 1983 and TVS launched the Ind-Suzuki AX100 in 1984-85. Bajaj Auto, which had a lead in the manufacture of scooters partnered with Kawasaki to bring in the KB100. Production began in 1986-87 and went on till 1996 when the KB125 was launched. Next came the SX Enduro, which was an offroad scrambler bike wit the same engine, but tweaked for lower end torque. The final variant was the KB100 RTZ "Delta Super Tuned". This version was given a resonator box and the gearbox casing near the gear shift lever had the words "Delta Super Tuned". Presumably this version was a last ditch attempt to rally sales in a market that was dominated by RX100 sales. In March / April 1996 the KB125 was launched. A 12.5 bhp (9.3 kW) machine, it looked exactly like the KB100, except that the side panels said "KB125". A few months on, the paintwork was changed, which gave the bike a more contemporary look. The bike didn't sell too much even though it had more power that the comparable Yamaha RXG (11.8 bhp). Bajaj Engineers also experimented with a 5 speed version of the bike, called the KB125 Prowler, but none seem to have been sold. Source: Kawasaki KB100 RTZ - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
