this is a great help for my upcoming rxz restoration. soon ill share it with everyone. like you in the process of sourcing the parts.
What paint was done on the engine? and how? as in what was done to the old coating etc? did u dismantle and then do it? and then assemble the engine? Because the first thing that strikes me is the clean job on the engine.
And this is something that i am stumped with. Since high temps would cause the paint to flake, and i dont think we get high heat paint here??
My offerings to the gods of speed -
- KTM Duke 200
- Yamaha RXZ 5 speed
awesome restoration work man...a very few rare guys like you takes so much pain n care to restore the bike like this...you have given beauty another definition through this RXG. spending 60 k for restoration is not something anybody would do, that is almost 4 times the amount you spent to buy it!!
loved your shogun too as i am more of a shogun/shaolin fan than of RX. but only the headlights n indicators look a bit out of place n doesnt go so well with it.
Way to go man..wishing you all the very best for future projects too.
Glad my report on rebuilding could be of some help to you. My best of wishes to you for your restoration. Will be waiting for your report. The paint used for colouring is 2K. The engine and bike was completely dismantled for painting. The excellent paint job was done by my friend who also restored the bike for me. Posting 2 pictures taken during dismantling the stock bike.
