Got a response from Yamaha Customer care

. They said that the cylinder assembly will be available somewhere mid 2010. Mr Rao said that he will try to get the items for me. Now its my turn to keep following up every now & then.

There are many RX lovers left in lurch with no spares available for restoration of the beautiful machine that was launched in India.

I really appreciate your efforts on gathering information. I guess, this would be useful for people similarly looking out for restoring their RX.

I never inquired about the price & they didn't mention it either. I thought not to mention about the price as I'm prepared to buy thing @ MRP.

Most probably it will increase. If I remember correctly, the dealer from who I bought Cylinder kits was talking about 135s kit prices already being revised upwards.

It is not just Mr.Rao, but other officials in Yamaha seem to be saying the same thing. There is a thread on RDD about the same issue.

Just out of curiousity, for how long is this situation being faced? I came to know of this only recently when aravind informed me.

Yesterday I got a call from known source that there is a RX100 cylinder kit for immediate sale. Anyone interested let me know.

Well, I need to put it this way that, Mr.Rao has told me that he will search for the parts. However it is upto me to follow-up with him regularly to see he doesn't forget. Hope you got the point.

The best way i cud find one is by goin to some reboring shops .. They will surely have a lot of RX-100 bores with them. But getting a good bore like a G1 or a Y1 is impossible from the company as they only give u G4 bores now which does not have much response. If u do want some help please cotact me on 9916673383. I cud let u know more about them. k. Please feel free to call.
