Question RX rebuild Using 3 Yamaha Variants

Hi Guys
I'm looking to buy a new Rx100 cylinder & piston assembly. I enquired about this with a dealer here in Chennai & they gave me a strange answer. However, I'm going to try that, meanwhile, I thought I could discuss about this in our community & take your opinion.

They asked me to send an email to Yamaha customer care & request for the parts & ship them to the nearest dealer. They provided me a contact number - 0120 2351193 stating that this is Yamaha's customer care number.

I'm wondering if this is the case in every city. Pls post your thoughts. Thanks.

Reliability? Is he a Yamaha dealer? I would prefer having with the bills.

Meanwhile I tried the number the Chennai dealer gave me, it always says "Connection Error"!!!

^ No he is not any dealer LoL!
He is a known name among tuners circle here in xbhp. Not a conman for sure You can probably PM him.

jd666 & navnish might also be of help.

@jd666 & navnish :-Sorry Gentlemen for taking your names w/o asking.

EDIT: If it is not your regular ride, I suggest you not to panic. There has been issues with RX series parts of late. It is expected to be sorted out very soon. Infact a dealer whom I spoke to told me couple of months back that from Jan (2010) parts should arrive.

Good Luck :-)

EDIT: Contact this fellow:- K.L.M Rao, South Zone Manager, Yamaha India-9980736736. Give him a piece of your mind.

Sounds good to me. I'll give a shot first thing tomorrow morning. Actually, I'm sick of relying upon the mechanics & automobile parts sellers in Chennai for all these years!!! I'm looking out to buy something with bill even if it means paying up taxes, but I prefer having originals to restore this 19 year old bike.

Post Parts are available

actually i m from Delhi and own a 1995 RX 100 . All genuine parts r available here in Delhi through Carlton motors.

They r d oldest Yamaha dealer in country and they service as well as sell yammies. I got my bike service there and till date used all genuine parts though price of spares are increasing day by day.

^^ already checked with them mate. They only have other spare parts, No cylinder kits, body plastic parts or anything else. And the cylinder kit that they are recommending or suggesting is the Diamond kit ( which is an aftermarket kit, not OEM).

I spoke to him few minutes back, he asked me to give a call in the evening (cut the line before noting down the time). So will post the updates in the evening after speaking to him. Thanks a lot Nitin. Appreciate very much. Pls let me know if I can refer your name or just keep it as a friend of mine as reference through which I obtained the number?

But are they OE? How easy/difficult will it be to get the parts from Delhi to Chennai? Also, did you enquire about Rx100 recently? Asking so many questions because a few months back, these dealers in Chennai, told me, ask me anything you get everything for Rx. But now they're tones are changing.
